Again with a Bat?

  • A man was beaten with a baseball bat Tuesday night in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

The 33-year-old man was arguing with someone he knew inside an apartment when the person grabbed a baseball bat and began beating him about 9:28 p.m. in the 2400 block of East 78th Street, Chicago Police said.

The two had been drinking alcohol, police said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with trauma to the head and eye and was in critical condition, police said.
"Critical" meaning he "might die."

Please forward to COPA.

COPA will be proposing officers sneeze on said bat for control tactics. A copper in 006 was enlisted for the pilot program. You heard it here first

We’re just asking for one sacrificial lamb from COPA to take a Louisville slugger off the noggin to test if it’s deadly (cus nobody’s died before from a baseball bat, ever. Unless it’s DeNiro with a bat in Untouchables.... but that’s just Hollywood not real life)

Might die is just mostly dead. Under COPA reasoning a police officer must be actually dead before they ar allowed to used deadly force.

Then over here this headline:

Emanuel pulls Chicago out of World Cup bid

https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-politics/emanuel-pulls-chicago-out-of-world-cup-bid/

This headline should be truthful like this:
Rahm pulls out of taxpayers asses, refuses the world cup bid as they refused to payoff the elected as much as we wanted!

It's a shame that even if a Police Officer had been there before it happened, he would NOT be able to shoot the offender when he started the attack as the "baseball" bat is NOT a deadly weapon anymore................just a sporting instrument.

OT: Just announced, Congressman Bobby Rush had his government paycheck garnished to the tune of $2100.00 a month for a loan taken to build his church. I guess the former Black Panther cannot attract enough posterior cheeks to fill the pews! He should check with JJSR and learn how to appropriate some no-strings government money. JJSR can work miracles with government money.

So baseball bats are not considered weapons in Chicago, and Chicago Police shouldn't worry about anyone carrying such a piece of sports equipment.
Using that logic, if a citizen wanted to express ill feelings towards an elected official, and just happened to be going to a sporting event, the Police would not stop this citizen from having a prayer meeting with said elected official?

Off Topic....In case you missed it, our First Deputy showed us again that he is a class act. At the end of compstat, Riccio grabbed the mic and chocked back tears as he thanked the men and women of 018 for everything they did for Commander Bauer and his family. Then he thanked Capt Roman for the great job he has done since the murder. Riccio said that Roman was the superintendent’s choice to be the new commander, but Roman turned it down so that he can remain close to the troops. Roman got a well deserved standing ovation from all in attendance. Tony and Mel - you guys are both class acts. Well done anf thank you both.

There only about 40 of you there, should be 55 or so. Probably 50% of you have major clout. The "Watch" in any district always needs more help.

How about this for advice...

Run silent, run deep.

The whole department is f-ed and you turn to this site for sympathy, while assigned to the Marine Unit?

How things change.........
The Two-Sixers were originally a baseball team,
then became a gang in the 1960s (Chicago retro history)
-----------
Somebody was afraid of a rigged election or Russian interference
in the recent Trump-endorsed election, so he did not vote at all.
-----------
The very first time I heard an actual Velvet Underground track
(as opposed to a Muzak cover) in a supermarket was last
Summer in a Whole Food's Market, after Amazon had purchased
the chain. I know, my life is just too exciting.

An expandable baton in the hands of a police officer is a deadly weapon, but a baseball bat wielded by a mental or drug fiend is not a threat. Got it?

Have you lost your mind? You use a MOVIE to prove a baseball bat can be lethal?
You DO know movies aren't real, right?
We've got plenty of real world baseball bat attacks to point to. You don't need to prove your facts with a MOVIE.
Pitiful.

I remember an incident at Archer just East of Pulaski where a traffic altercation occurred and one driver got out of the car with one of those souvenir bats you can buy at Sox Park and threatened the other driver.
The other driver pulled out his .32 auto and shot him one time in the chest. DOA.... ASA "No Charges" because the other guy had a weapon.
Times sure changed.

Lighten up, Francis. Anyone with a brain between their ears knows a hard, dense object striking a human skull with a high amount of kinetic energy will result in great bodily harm or death. The poster was clearly making a joke. A damn funny one, in my opinion. Now, if it was something like a tire iron, that’s different. I mean, it’s only used to fix car tires so it couldn’t cave a man’s skull in. <<<<. Trying to see if you’ll take the bait<<<<
