Crooked CPS?
- Chicago Public Schools employees “stole or misappropriated” thousands of dollars worth of school-purchased gift cards that were intended to be used as incentives for students and families, according to an annual report from the district’s inspector general.
In one case, a principal of a school for vulnerable students stole presents of at least “$500 in gift cards that were donated to the students and were intended to help address their specialized needs,” Inspector General Nicholas Schuler’s office found. The same principal gave to an acquaintance 30 new backpacks filled with school supplies that had been donated, according to Schuler.
The misuse of gift cards was among a long list of alleged wrongdoing by teachers, principals and district families in the IG’s annual report, which was released Wednesday.
Who would have thought that in a monumental bureaucracy there might be a scandal or two lurking?

This investigation, as with the investigations by the I.G. for City Colleges of Chicago, another hotbed of corruption all raise some serious questions that need to be answered, for example: 1. What is the Tipping Point, whereby an I.G. should take criminal behavior to the State's Attorney for PROSECUTION OR RESTITUTION? 2. By what authority, does an I.G. Divert Felony Theft or other crimes, and allow the offenders to simply walk away, only with loss of job, instead of jail time? When Schuler realized what Byrd was doing he turned the case over to the FBI. Was that because the amount of money being stolen was in the millions? So if the theft is only in the hundreds of thousands, tax-payers are supposed to just take the hit? As these questions go unanswered, criminals are walking away from serious crimes, at the tax-payers expense. So in the end, the Chump is the tax-payer. it is not common in the private corporate world to arrest employees for minor cases of theft or fraud. They just want a resignation to avoid litigation and paying unemployment. I am guessing that the CPS thinks along those lines. The same goes for medical professionals caught stealing narcotics from hospitals and clinics ( and it does happen in great numbers). They are allowed to resign.

These gift cards were for "vulnerable" students? What kind of students do they consider vulnerable? The kind that are assholes, cause mischief and beat on others for their personal enjoyment? The gift cards were a payment if they acted like normal kids?
The real scandal from this whole thing, besides "vulnerable" kids being paid off, is that nobody from CPS will get disciplined over this. They will just shell out more money to fund the same shitty program that produces thug children.
