Doesn't Oak Park have a say? Oh wait....they would support it. Then their north side would be just like their east side....

What is he going to do with the Sears that is closing down at North Avenue and Harlem. Does the alderman get a penthouse condo out of the deal?

These real estate whores deserve to live in Hell.
Now you got plenty of riff-raff to rub shoulders
with. These bastards destroy property values,
along with the neighborhood.

What ever happened to the 20% set aside for apartments? The West Loop has added around 10,000 apartments in the last 4 years alone and not one of them is 20% set aside or Section 8. What's wrong? Transplants from the burbs want that "City" living but don't want to live next to or with "City" people. That's racism!!!

West of Narragansett still good, west of Oak Park better, always held its own beautiful homes, working class of every race taking care of it, that will end abruptly. There is a lot of black cops in that area when they are against it at this meeting will that be racist. Why dosent the news media go to said meeting and ask them why they're against a project that will help poor people have a nicer place to live.

Dear Chris, as a fellow retired Sergeant you seem to be doing a great job, I live in an adjoining ward and notice that your ward has allowed Zitella to build his rentals in your ward on Harlem along with Sergio Banks who is building on Harlem, we all know these 2 are booked up people, but these build vs will and do have section 8 residents. But I think you need to worry about the empty Seats property and the empty store and old McDonald's along Harlem. Why not try to get some TIF businesses instead of getting that war chest lined. I'm sure that property on North Ave.can go to better use. That should be an interesting meeting, good luck Pizon.

I voted for this guy because he was cop. He showed up to the area block partys and glad handed everyone pushing his law enforcement background. Everyone loved it. Everyone voted for him. Now, we’re about to get f’d with a dick so big an elephant could feel it. If he re-zones that property for residential apartments, then I’d be the dumbass for supporting him. Don’t do it Sarge!

There's a lot of great middle class black families in Galewood that keep things tight. Let's see if the media shows them protesting a section 8 development. Is it racist then? Or is because you don't want your neighborhood to turn into the hellhole of Austin a few blocks away?

Galewood used to be a great neighborhood, but has been dying a slow death the last 20 plus years. One of the reasons it’s held on this long is they don’t have any apartment buildings there. If this gets approved, it’ll be the final nail in the cofffin for a once great neighborhood. And if you think any Oak Park residents will oppose this your a fool. They embrace diversity, lots of hate has no home here lawn signs in the village. So glad I moved out of Galewood!

Years ago, I said to a boss of mine "how would you like to see this place in 20 years?"

His answer "20? --more like 5."

And sadly all the Democrats are all for lazy ass, worthless crud that adds nothing and only bleeds a city, county, state and country dry.

NOT ILLINOIS. NOT LAW.

Edison Park was a safe bet but Arena is slowly destroying it with public housing projects. All with high density. The liberals are winning. The only safe haven is Mt Greenwood.

Elmwood Park is going to sht, at donato homes all you see are mop heads with their undewear showing on harlem. I've lived in this area for 14 years and the west side is moving here very fast by Harlem. Galewood, Montclaire, even parts of dunning are having these mop heads walk up and down staring at cars to see who will check them. If they build these modern projects, Belmont heights will loose copers and fire fighters. I will sell and move next to niles or leave this State.

They are trying this in every ward..........Cardenas had a community meeting with a "developer" not too long ago about rehabbing some large buildings in the 12th ward that promised set asides for the elderly. If its not "for the children", its "for the elderly" - that seems to be the new mantra. Chinese constituents NOT HAPPY after already paying half a million for new homes in the same area. And this developer has a bad reputation on Yelp for the properties he has already developed and is managing.

Someone should take a census presently of the area, race, religion, and ethnicities. After a year or two, take another census and see the difference. It's going to be a negative impact financially for home owners, business and if I was living near this planned housing project area, I'd get out right now.

Not too bright, are you? Edison Park's alderman is Napolitano, and he ain't allowing high density housing in EP or Norwood. Arena's trying to run down Jeff Park.
