January - Up, February - Almost Up

Remember last week? When Chicago was down over a dozen homicides for February? Not any more:
  • Seven people were killed and another six were wounded in shootings Wednesday on the South and West sides of Chicago, marking the deadliest day of gunfire across the city so far this year.

Four other days this year have seen five fatal shootings, including last Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Chicago Sun-Times data. The other bursts of killings happened on Feb. 5 and Jan. 21, when 25 people were shot — the highest single-day toll of gunshot victims.
February 2017 totals stand at 44 - just two short of February 2016.

Five days and the weekend assures a tally to surpass the 44.

We all know that more police is not the answer to the carnage. Good job opportunities, hugs, kisses and understanding might help.

And President Trump was quick to Twitter that point! There is clearly something going on here between the President and our beloved and Wanna Be Tough Guy Mayor! Perhaps, when Rahm went to "instruct" the President on what he needs to do, since he was once a Chief of Staff to a President; well could that meeting have ended with President Trump telling Rahm to Fu&k Off? Obama's approach to governance is clearly different from President Trump. All of Rahm's pretend Tough Guy Act: the Fish, intimidation in the Steam Room, all of those petty antics mean absolutely nothing to Trump, except to maybe piss him off which appears to be a bad idea for Rahm. And as the body count rises, Rahm's popularity in the Black Community declines. Earlier this week, when the local news did their usual crying survivors, uttering nonsense, and "Falling out", one family member of a deceased resident of Shitcago said something to the effect of: "I'm Calling out da Mayor on dis violence." And soon there will be more calling Rahm out, even Aldermen. Everyone from the President to the mope on the street sees blood in Rahm's water. Do NOTHING more than the minimum required. Protect each other, because nobody has your back. And at the end of the day, the ACLU, goes home to Winnetka. While YOU stay in Austin and Englewood, with Da Folks & Peoples! Baby "G"

I know the mayor gets a ton of the blame, rightfully so, but it's time to start calling out Shreckwinkle personally outside of this blog. She is the one pushing everybody to not arrest these innocent little choirboys. She appointed the PD, she basically appointed the SA, she plays Evans like a fiddle with threats to his budget, she already has Dart (his budget never seems to take a hit)...........SHE needs to go maybe even before the mayor. I just dread another one of her lackeys will get his job, not that I want to see him stay either. We're toast.

Why isn't the media chasing the mayor or alderroaches around looking for explanations, like the folks Special Ed calls the Legislature.
Nobody is complaining, so things must be 'acceptable".

Huddled, somewhere in a dark corner is silent and shaky little flea bitten St.Sabinia church mouse named Rahm Emanuel.
Not a peep from the City Council or any other elected official, besides The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
The snap trap was set and a big hunk of Govmint Cheese Money sits on the trigger.
Will the once roaring lionhearted shining star turned timid tit mouse try to snatch that shit up?

A good start would be putting a little brown honorary street sign back up.

Stay Fetal until further notice.

Over at HeyJackass.com, there is an interesting new graph to play with which gets updated daily.I just call it the YTD Murder Meter, where the day-to-day body count can be compared on a yearly basis, back to 2009. The graph is towards the bottom of the front page.

YTD body count thru 2/23/17
2017 - 99 (with 5 days left, the HJ forecast of 100 seems optimistic)
2016 - 98 out of 103 (end of Feb)
2015 - 48 out of 52 (end of Feb)
2014 - 42 out of 46 (end of Feb)
2013 - 58 out of 59 (end of Feb)
2012 - 59 out of 69 (end of Feb)
2011 - 46 out of 50 (end of Feb)
2010 - 40 out of 45 (end of Feb)
2009 - 46 out of 50 (end of Feb)

UPDATED:FEB 24 2017 11:37AM CST
CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - Chicago Police arrested 81 people in overnight raids, a police spokesman announced Friday morning.

Sixty-two of those arrested were convicted felons, and 14 were on parole for selling drugs, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on Twitter. Nineteen had previous gun arrests.

The department was expected to provide more details about the raids at a briefing Friday afternoon.

Don't worry guess the AG Jeff Sessions can direct his team to go directly to city hall to start the forensic audit!

From the original post:

********************************

Not to nitpick, but I remember the stats on Hey Jackass for January 1: 28 shootings with 3 KIA, which really started '17 off with a bang, so to speak. That would give a 1-day shot clock average of:

A shooting happened every: 51 minutes, 24 seconds.
A homicide happened every: 8 hours.

The way things are going this year, there might very well be a few more New Year's Day events.

We watch Rahm's act with more than a little amusement...

The malignant little manling has come to know
real FEAR for the first time in his life.

You see, he's pissed beyond measure because
EVERYTHING he's plotted and schemed from his days
in the Clinton White House, his parlaying of the
White House rolodex into a tidy $16 Million payday
at Freddie/Fannie, to another stint at 1600
Pennsylvania during the Obama Administration,
to somehow being chosen by hidden powers to
parachute into Chicago to run the statute of limitations
clock for Daley Inc. and keep the Gold Coast/North Shore
political fundraisers/phony charity bullshitters from
having to give compelled testimony against Daley.

Too many rich and important m/fers facing the prospect
of being made to wear prison jumpsuits and losing their
ill gotten fortunes that were gained at the expense of
the blue collar working churls who pay obscene freight
but reap no benefit as their tax dollars are being used
against THEM by motherfuckers who fancy themselves smarter
than anybody else...

You're dead on target with your assessment of the
state of affairs in the Chicago Rat-Hole.

Some years ago we came across an amusing manga rendering
of a weasel so evil, foul and vicious that when some
malignant entity deigned to show himself, the weasel did
strip his own pelt off with his bare hands, neatly folded
his pelt, placed it on the ground and bowed in worship
to the malignant entity.

If we could ever find it again, we would have
tee shirts printed up.

There are decent people who STILL just can't get their heads
around the venality that is personified in Rahm Emanuel.

Let Chicago fall into total and well deserved rot
then tie the decaying carcass to Rahm Emanuel's
back and make him carry it around until the day he dies.

Invent drones that can hover over the most violent areas that can detect firearms. 4 years away maybe but it would sure help right now. You would need hundreds of them. Make sure you make them bullet proof. The left would be popping off at those drones day and night.

HJ Update . . .

Stupidity Tally as of 9:00a: 2 killed, 5 wounded
2016 weekend tally: 2 killed, 26 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 0 killed, 5 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 6 killed, 5 wounded

Friday 2/25
All quiet on the Western and Southern fronts

WTF? This would be the first day without a shooting since February of 2015 - unless there's a late hit on the play.

Feb '17 is tied with Feb '16 at 46 bodies.
'17 YTD is 101, 2 under the count thru 2/29/16.
