At first they disqualified you do to the psychological portion of the test with no recourse to appeal. The city was caught doing that but won the lawsuit with their paid for judges. Since then they have been disqualifying you do to the background investigation and polygraph. Candidates from Mt Greenwood have been turned away for as little as a traffic violation, while blacks are hired with misd. convictions no problem.
Why would you want your family working for cpd. Better yet why do you want your family living in this hellhole.

Really? Blacks are the cornerstone of keeping these Democrats in office. Have you been downtown lately and seen who has a lot of these public sector jobs? Also, many governments jobs are held by blacks. Secretary of State, CTA, city of Chicago, etc, etc.

I *think* you can take that to the bank. Local cesspool's like City Hall are part of that "swamp" that needs draining. Important thing to keep in mind is that it's not only President Trump but his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, who is no nonsense when it comes to Law & Order -- Illegal Immigration, Sanctuary Cities, and...Civil Rights.
And here's the funny thing, Jeff Sessions believes that Everyone has civil rights, not just the catered to community. That the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection clause pertains to everyone. Now how quaint is that belief in D.C.
In fact, a couple days ago pMSNBC had this Black Attorney on who used to be in the DOJ and he was going ballistic over Sessions nomination for U.S.A.G., ranting that Sessions was an 'extremist' who will actually file Hate Crime Charges against Blacks who target White people. As such, Tiny Dancer and all his toadies -- including ass-kissing CPD Brass -- better realize fast that the party is over, the lawless days are over. They've been doin this at the PT test for years now. A certain F/1 doesn't count the sit-ups properly for male whites disqualifying them and when its time for an M/1 to do his sit-ups she disappears. I hope some law firm takes the case and you publish it on the blog. I live in Mt. Greenwood and I have three people on my block who were kicked off the list. I heard that another way the city got rid of white males was to keep calling them down to take the "Power Test" every three months. As soon as you had a conflict and tried to get the Department to reschedule the test they would say no. You can ask any probationary police officer how many times they were called to take the "Power Test" before they were hired and most black officers said one or two times with three being the most. When I asked white officers the same question, most said between three to seven times. If a law firm compares the hiring practice of the Department by race and sex you will see all the ways the city tries to eliminate white males.
Mount Greenwood actually had the most votes against Rahm. If we could get the liberal Beverly people out of our ward we would be one of the most conservative wards in the state.
Rahm doesn't want any more white cops anyway.... the city doesn;t want any more white bosses either, it's been proven ... how has it been proven? Here's how:
There was a SUpreme COurt case that said cops can be hired right down the line, because that entrance exam predicted job performance. So Title VII of the CIvil RIghts Act still applies (if one race is not hired at a rate 80% of the dominant race there exists a prima facie case of discrimination), but once that test is proven predictive, then the racial breakdown no longer matters. THe case, if you're interested, is:
Wash. v. Davis, 426 U.S. 229 (1976)
• 2 black officers sued regarding promotions w/in the dept. and 2 blacks sued after being refused entry onto the Washington D.C. police, alleging racial discrimination in violation of the 5th Amendment DP clause, and Title VII. SCOTUS ruled for police, stating test of verbal skill was valid (Get that? SCOTUS ruled for the police!)
What is Chicago's response? They give a test with a low ceiling so most everyone passes, then they assign a lottery # in regards to firing. SO #500 can be hired well before #6. Now the city can pick and choose the races.
For promotions it is a little bit different. THey still have the low ceiling, but the rank order does matter, for the top 70% for Sgt's and Lt's, and the top 80% for detectives. But the remaining 20 and 30% goes back to the "whatever" category. We all know this, I am not telling you anything you don't know.
But the point is the city could be hiring the best and the brightest for the CPD. They could defend the test and hire straight down the line. They choose not to. They are hiring based on racial politics.

But it is interesting that not only are standards lowered for "diversity" applicants, applicants that may be highly qualified are turned away, (due to their skin color perhaps?).
Police Officers, firemen, paramedics, these are not just more government jobs that can be filled by any warm body, these are jobs that need to be filled by "the best man (woman?)" for the job.
Constantly lowering standards will get more and more people killed. The very people ALL OF US may need in a life or death situation need to be supported by government and standards need to be high. They aren't scapegoats for inept government leadership, local or national!

Yes, it is possible to devise a promotional test that would withstand any federal court challenge for discrimination based on race. But, you are correct, racial politics takes over. If there was a promotional examination that was defensible ever given in Chicago, and there was in the 90's and is was defensible, ( resulting in merit picks) the black and hispanic political base would go ballistic when they saw the results. But, merit promotions does more then bring in more minorities, it brings in the correct minorities, the spoken for people both black and white and hispanic. That is what really counts. If only former Ald. Beavers would be honest and write a true expose book on Chicago politics it would be explosive and a best seller.

She settled with the city this way, so she could walk away from the law suit to become a supreme court justice in Illinois. I guess I owe her kudos for the settlement, but if she would have actually followed through with what she sad she was going to do I would actually have 7 more years on the job then I do. I got to re-take the 91 test and finally got hired in 1997.

Don't know maybe you can ask a certain Sgt. in 025 who came from the Emerald Isle, 20 years on still has a green card. There's many more like him from Eastern European countries not to single them out, Asia& Africa are represented as well. You had to go to ald. Burke's wife's law firm to get the right settlement if you wanted the time toward your pension for the tests that you took before you were actually hired. They were giving entrance exams every five years.

the cpd assigns incompetent patrol officers to investiagate the kids from mount greenwood , Beverly neighborhood , many kids that were 2,000 on the list were hired after those that were 5-6000 on the list
maybe time for a discrimination law suit

Why did Dean Angelo and FOP Lodge 7 say nothing, not a damn thing about getting out the cop vote in this election. Why, he has to have been promised a six-figure second pension retirement job. I'd like to see him in an interrogation room being sweated by some feds about Labor Racketeering.
The FOP leadership had always been bought off.

I never ever needed FOP to tell me to vote.
What we need is for FOP to rally the troops and tell Rahm and the rest of the politicians we all will be voting an they better damn well take care of our needs like our pension and medical care.

As long as coppers scab working VRI etc we will never get any concessions from the city. Stop working extra shit and only answers you calls. Sooner or later they will have to hire.
Shows how ignorant you are, I know quite a few non citizens on this job, that are here on visas. I was also in the Corps with quite a few. I know you're as dumb and ignorant as they come but give it a rest. It doesn't say you can be an illegal immigrant to become the police. I bet my non citizen Polish wife is twice the cop you ever were or could be.

You are (not your) connecting two different issues. I have been telling people for years that the manpower is dangerously low and that should also be something that FOP and Dean should be yelling his head off about. He should be publishing manpower reports and getting taxpayers enraged that they are not getting the service they are paying for.
Why hasn't Dean done anything about either issue? As soon as he leaves watch where he goes. Maybe instead of the airport or park district he will be a marketing exec for AETNA.

Some of the best cops I have had the pleasure of working with were non-citizens working toward citizenship. There is something about having pride in working towards that goal. We threw a party for one of them when he became a citizen.
