Openings

Golly, there are a lot of them!
  • 003 - 10 openings
    005 - 10
    010 - 5
    016 - 6
And sergeants:
  • 001 - 1
    002 - 5
    003 - 7
    004 - 1
    006 - 2
    007 - 2
    009 - 1
    011 - 3
    012 - 1
    024 - 1
    025 - 1
No lieutenants. And no detectives until they make that class.

Only 6 in 016? Looks like Fat Head Ed and Navarro didn't keep their word with Sposato and Napolitano.

Yep the politician's running the department are still hiding the shortages.
That also includes the politician's who are at 35th street.
You have officers stripped for 10 years and no one is responsible.
You have no legitimate promotional exams, tests take years to be scored.
You have no FTO, ET's or continual training only the online crap we all laugh at.

What amazes me and others more is the fact the continual miss management of Department
is rewarded not prohibited. The fact you make more supervisors does not mean they take on responsibility
it is the opposite. And the higher the rank the less they admit too.

How is it in 016 guys? Genuinely thinking of making the move. Close to 20 on, and my mission of solving crime and keeping order Southside has been an abject failure. Ha! We were never intended to succeed, given the rules of the game if you ask me.

What's the seniority to get days and afternoons? How easy or hard is it to get a stinking day off around here? How is the call volume, is the radio going constantly? Kinda tired of that too.

Can I expect constant sneers, hard looks, stares, spitting on the sidewalk from the citizenry everywhere I go?

Do tell.

Napolitano and Sposato need to talk to Ed again. 6 openings? No police coverage in 016 whatsoever. It's to the point where it's ridiculous!

003 is not as bad as you think.....but not as good as you hoped. Very NOBLE heavy with lots of test cheaters and bosses merit kids in white shirts assigned but they don't bother you too much. BLM sgt supporter on days and a crazy female sgt on 3rd watch to try and navigate around but overall the back up is good and most po's have less than 5 years on and you can get a decent furlough. Not the busiest of ghetto districts and a radio zone all to itself. A couple golf courses and the beach take up a lot of real estate and the call volume isn't that bad

025 is its own world that takes a long time to get accepted in, especially if your a white shirt. Plus the drive from 004 to 025 would blow ass

It seems a lot of supervisors in 025 were po's there also. Its a good place if people like you, if they dont then it can be brutal. Theres more than enough people that will tell you to f off, supervisor or not

Live in the 16th. The police presence is non existant, it would actually be awesome to see a copper parked and watching Netflix or whatever but there's not a single squad anywhere to be found. I understand the "stay fetal" mentality but at least leave the station and be seen, the 16th dist residents appreciate your presence. Stay safe boys/gals.

025 does things a little different.
If you've taken some major time, or ever had to fill out a list of assets, you should fit in just fine.
I believe about 1/2 of us are here because 311 was full when we stepped on our dicks.
It's still fun at times, but the cameras are coming!
The current management shut the bar down again, but we get a new DC about every year.
The hookers on Cicero give a police discount, so we got that going for us.

Like another post stated 003 isn't as bad you would think it would be. But also not as good as you would hope. 003 is generally a district full of DOGS...nice DOGS...I would say the type that don't bother you if you want to hand in zeros as long as you roll by and show up for back up. No one cares about the activity so you can work or not work as you please. You do get good furloughs but like I said not the worst place to work but not the best by any stretch of the imagination. It is one of the slower Southside districts as far as radio calls. Gotta take the good with the bad type of district.

GET OUT OF THE GHETTO if you can ~ why give them the police service when 016, who pays more taxes, needs it? Better food options too....

Most if not all would leave the ghetto if we could. But this department likes to hold us hostage, more reason to get out.
