Inspector Battery

Inspectors returned about what...a year or two ago? And evidently they've been invested with new and frightening powers:
  • Hey SCC,

First time I've ever written to you but you have to hear this. An inspector appeared in 011 the other day, monitored the radio, ran some plates in the parking lot, then went into the station to find some violations to write up. She went and grabbed a female officer wrist and twisted it in order to verify the officer's fingernails were in compliance with Department policy.

This is a 25 year veteran officer who is retiring next year, and somehow Inspector Augustina Gonzalez feels it's appropriate to grab and twist an officers wrist. Word is a CR was averted by the intervention of the Commander, so you know he "has everyones back"  hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Well, that's....interesting. We can't recall any of the old inspectors grabbing and twisting wrists of some old timer - they'd probably end up short a few teeth and who knows how that wrist would work once the cast came off. But hey, you give small people a little bit of power to flex against someone who might not fight back...someone better take this flake off the street (Special Ed, we're looking at you).

So why didn't the 25 year wonder get a cr on the commander also for failing to take action?

Do these actions fit the narrative on supervisory accountability, culpability, and transparency being shoved down our throats by the doj.

And was a trr completed for the use of force by the inspector?

Five years ago, I was 'talked out of' getting a cr# on someone under similar circumstances. I ended up launched shortly after and the offending (and offensive) jerk was protected.
GET THE NUMBER ON THE INSPECTOR.
JUST PROTECT YOURSELF AND GET THE NUMBER.
You can initiate it yourself and you don't need some boss to do it for you.

Ol' Gusty strikes again!!! She's real big on uniforms. Being an inspector is perfect for her. Another triple merit promotion hack approved only because she's is female Hispanic. She'd screw up a one car funeral, so inspector is about all she's qualified to be. Useless. To the P.O. in 011....get the CR#. Accountability and all. What's good for us is good for them too. If it were the other way around, they'd have gotten a number on her for insubordination. The Hell with her. She's got an ego so big that she needs to be knocked down a few pegs. Only the best and brightest are at the helm in this department.

And there you have it brass covering for brass. Typical white shirts against blue shirts. You can bet if a PO smarted off a little to the inspector a CR# would be pulled immediately and the commander wouldn't have done a damm thing to intervene. The PO should go get the number on her own because we all know we are on our own. Hey Eddie, doesn't this story piss you off?

Ok...
So the commander should get it stuck
in his shiny moon for failure to take
appropriate action?

You know...
Since discretion has been stripped
away from the lowly blue shirt,
how/why a District Commander is
able to skate on "squashing" a
C/R# for Official Misconduct and
failing to arrest an Inspector for
battering a subordinate Officer?

Too big to fail.
Too important to go to jail.

If the Officer made any move to
protect herself against the unlawful,
insulting and demeaning physical
contact, SHE would be the one
sitting in lock-up.

Ignorant, bullying "Cuz I said so" supervision has been
accepted for far too long at CPD...

It's amazing how supposed adults with guns
are allowed to mistreat other adults with guns.

One day, some ignorant bosshole is going to
get all sideways with some Copper desperately
minding their business while enduring a bad
day/week/month/year...

Actually it is a testament to the fine Policemen
on this job that incidents of extreme workplace
violence haven't manifested themselves more.

"Huh? You think you're too good
to be fucked with?"

Or as one particularly rotten
Supervisor announced in a roll-call
many years ago:

"I'M THE JAG-OFF!
Not you!"

Funny...
He encountered a bigger jag-off
with a heavier phone call who
got him both bricked and moved.

When will these bad "managers"
start paying with the skin off their
asses for the way they play?

Off topic but interesting. From the tribune/what other people are saying.

Black Lives Matter has a list of 10 discrete, achievable policy reforms. But they're seldom mentioned in high-profile settings, such as NFL stadiums, or even on protest signs. Most people have no idea they exist.

They include stripping police union contracts of provisions that protect bad cops, ensuring that the prosecutors who decide whether to charge police officers aren't the same individuals who rely on them for testimony in their cases, forcing police departments to return military-grade weapons to the government and training local law enforcement agencies to handle the mentally ill.

Activists are probably correct that simply stating “Black Lives Matter” is a better way to attract attention and draw in allies than wonky details. But it's the wonky details that shape policing policy. And no matter how aware Americans are of police killings, they will keep happening until policy changes.

What is it about the confines of 011, that seem to morph female whites shirts into raging psycho bitches...who hate other women? Seriously, even before Penny, there was the nutbag ass black female Sgt (name escapes me) who had a hard-on for female po's.
I'm familiar with ole "Goostie" from Homan Square.
One time, the commander was in her shit about her team's failure to produce. She responded by whining that her team didn't have enough black officers. A team down the hall was nearly all black, and very successful. Word was, Goostie asked the commander to break that team up, and assign some it's po's to her team. FUCKIN HILARIOUS, this chick was. Then, somehow, despite her massive failure in narcotics, she "earned" a spot in the coveted asset forfeiture unit. But Wait, there's more: She's been promoted 2X since.

This is one reason why I think since we already have cameras, we should turn those cameras on for the whole tour. For example, about three years ago I had a situation where a 14 year old kid was kissing and fondling his 14 year old girlfriend. So the 14 year old gets smart with my Lt. The Lt. orders me to file a csa report against the kid and have him arrested. Why? Because a 14 year old bad mouthed you and your feelings got hurt? I refused and 19 Pauled the job. No crime occurred. I asked the girl and she said we were kissing and touching each other and no sex occurred and everything was done voluntarily. When my Lt. saw on the pdt that I 19 Pauled the job, she was livid and wrote me up several times for other petty shit.

Most bosses are good and decent people. But some bosses are assholes. I think having a body camera on for the whole tour will make those asshole bosses think twice before they abuse their authority.

I'll take the private ass chewing. But if you think you're going to embarrass me for your own need to feel power, you'll be surprised at how I come right back at you. FUCK YOUR WHITE SHIRT!!!
When your verbiage crosses the line and becomes more than supervisor counseling po, and if you dare put your hands on me, you've entered the realm of MAN TO MAN. All bets are off then. And heaven help you, boss, if there are no witnesses. Because then, it's your word against mine.

She makes big bird sound like a prince. I know there are a lot non police people out there who read this blog. This right here goes to show the only 'code of silence'. In the police department is among the 'annointed' the commanders the deputies etc. this is because they all answer to there friends the alderman, the state senator etc. they will go out of there way to help each other out. Most of them are over promoted and not qualified to lead an expidition from their back door to the alley to take out the garbage.

Here is the issue now in the new age of 21st century, policing more than ever, us blue shirts need leaders who we can respect in order to enact the changes that are needed to police in the 21st century. City hall and 35th street keep sending us these merit hacks that have no idea what they are doing and for the most part don't care. I say that because plenty of commanders know that they just have to do a short time in a district 1 to 2 years then they are getting moved up to the higher made up gold pension spot. In this short period of time who do you expect any boss to learn anyone's name, let alone supervise and tutor the newer seargents and lieutenants in an an attempt to come up with ideas to see what works and what doesn't policy wise in house and on the streets. Sorry for the long rant 12 years later and this shit is still going on...the Chicago way

Will his failure to initiate the CR result in an automatic 10 day suspension like it does for sergeants or lieutenants? Also sounds like he's supporting that thin blue line of not reporting wrong doing by another officer. I guess that only applies to wrong doing towards the public and not other officers. Office, if you didn't go your own route and get the CR, I hope you're at least keeping good notes of this occurrence with names of witnesses so when you're retaliated against you can move forward with your whistleblower lawsuit.

A female inspector grabbed my wrist when we were passing each other in the hallway once. I immediately pivoted on the ball of my recently shined shoe and we embraced. Our lips pressed firmly together as our minds swirled. Her full, jet black, Latin hair was nowhere near her collar as it was wrapped up tightly in my strong Irish hand. Her chest heaved beneath her Cotton/Rayon shirt and my heart raced beneath mine. Our wool/polyester blend covered legs moved towards each other as we briefly lost our balance, giggled slightly to ourselves and embraced again. The sudden arrival of the officer working the radio room forced us to break from each other. As we broke in different directions; her towards the commander's office and me to the streets she said "Goodbye Sergeant" and I said "Goodbye Inspector". I put my crown cap on as I walked out the door and looked up at the 2nd floor and she was there and we waved to each other. My heart smiled and ached at the same time as I walked to my squad car. Our kiss would carry me through my tour I thought to myself, but first I had to check my personal car to make sure my plates were not expired and tell the guys there was an inspector in the station...

Nest call will be to my Attorney and Family.

Try that to do that to me Inspector AG.

CR on the Commander for failing to obtain a CR within 1 hour and a CR on Inspector AG.

A veteran officer once told me that bosses who are sticklers for stupid stuff like beat tags and hats were never themselves the police. There was once a commander of the 011th District in the 90's who actually stole officers crown caps with shields if they were unattended. After committing the theft, the commander would then have a sergeant check to see if the officer had his/her crown cap. And of course, the sergeant would report the officer could not produce the crown cap so the officer was written up for failing to secure department property after the commander relinquished unauthorized control of the stolen proceeds.

To give you an idea of the types promoted to commander, this same commander insulted the Korean businessmen's Association attendees at as Christmas party by introducing them as his North Korean (communist)friends when in fact they were from South Korea. He too was a triple merit recipient.

Listen to this keyboard commander. You sound like Seal Team 6 material. What a bunch of pansies on this Department these days.

The best part is that you want to throw in with the Lovey law firm. The firm that sues your fellow officers for the "ghetto lottery" payoff you think you deserve. You are as bad as any scum on the streets. A man with no honor, but I don't suppose that bothers someone like you.

Off Topic now but soon this will be a major...

I went to a CPD retiree luncheon the other day and one of the speakers was Clint Krislov the lawyer who is fighting to keep our retiree medical benefits. He is hopeful of wining this case before the Illinois Supreme Court. We will know the results soon so to bail out BCBS supplement is premature.

Other speakers were Dean Angelo, President of FOP 7 and two from Aetna insurance. They were pushing the Aetna MAPD, Medicare Advantage Plan with Drug program. This is NOT a Medicare supplement, it is a Medicare REPLCEMENT. You leave your Medicare Card at home and present your Aetna card. Aetna then pays them directly and collects from Medicare and the city.

Like an H.M.O., from their brochure, "The Aetna plan incudes an Extended Service Area (ESA), also known as a Passive PPO that will allow you to use doctors and hospitals that are in or out of the Aetna Medicare network. You will have the flexibility to visit doctors and hospitals of your choice, as long as they are licensed and eligible to receive payment from Original Medicare and can bill Aetna." So many of the best doctors and hospitals, (more expensive) are not part of Aetna’s plan.

I spend my winters down south and I was going to have some major surgery done at a prominent hospital there. My records, X-ray, MRIs and tests are there. But this hospital does not take ANY Medicare Advantage Plans.

I saw my doctor here and the first words he said were, "Welcome to Obamacare." He didn't know anything about this and said come back and talk to his office manager. The same with any specialist, talk to the office manage as the doctor may not know anything about this plan.

The more I look into this the more it sounds like a second rate HMO being sold on those Obamacare exchanges. To put that package together to sell to 10,000+ CPD retirees somebody has to be getting paid off. I only hope to God Clint Krislov wins out case in court.

Also speaking there was Diane Shapiro, candidate for Clerk of Court and Christopher Pfannkunchue (pronounced Fan-cook) running for Cook County States Attorney. Both of them deserve our votes and the votes of our friends and families.

A. Gonzalez was the unit commander at the JISC. The second worst boss we ever had! She replaced the worst. It was obvious she was only concerned about her career. I have had prisoners with more personality than her. She never made the rounds and tried to meet everybody that worked there. It was a small unit then, and she never got the personnel we needed. She went to a lot of command meetings though... All that sucking up, and she only lands an inspectors spot! ROFL...!!!

I do believe she WAS triple merit. She made Captain when she left...While she was there, she had knee surgery at the beginning of summer. We saw her in high heels just before she left and there was nary a limp. She came back around Christmas, and hosted the worst furlo pick session in the history of CPD. GO Gustie...!!!!

WE are now so concerned with fingernails. Geeze...

We should be more concerned that our weapons are, clean, properly lubricated and loaded with the best ammunition possible. That our holsters and belts are secure and our body armor is as good as possible.

We use to have a boss in my old district that on Tuesday nights use to bring up a toolbox to roll call. He would spread a plastic table cloth on a table and after a brief roll call everyone was invited to unload their weapons at the ballistic box and to use the gun cleaning and oiling tools in the box. That crew had their share of O.I. shootings and I never heard of anyone's gun jamming because it was dirty or dry.

"Word is a CR was averted by the intervention of the Commander"

Will his failure to initiate the CR result in an automatic 10 day suspension like it does for sergeants or lieutenants? Also sounds like he's supporting that thin blue line of not reporting wrong doing by another officer. I guess that only applies to wrong doing towards the public and not other officers. Office, if you didn't go your own route and get the CR, I hope you're at least keeping good notes of this occurrence with names of witnesses so when you're retaliated against you can move forward with your whistleblower lawsuit.

Yup according to the general order on conduct and discipline a number has to be pulled in 1 hour. Typical different rules for different folks. Bosses covering for bosses. That's why no one trusts them. They cover each other and screw the troops. No matter how hard she grabbed the PO it's ridiculous to do something like that for nail polish. Hopefully the brass send her a message. And the PO should get a number and go to the doctor. An IOD should be completed too.

"She's big on uniforms." She's an INSPECTOR. Of course, they're big on uniforms, and they should be! Imagine, if
unit/district Commanders showed up and looked over all of their troops at roll calls on a regular basis, say once or
twice a month. Imagine if watch commanders and sergeants did it a little more regularly. There probably wouldn't
be a need for inspectors at all in this dept. Unfortunately, so many supervisors have dropped the ball on this, which
is why there is a need for inspectors. How is it that officers have the audacity to park their personal vehicles in their
respective parking lots at work with expired plates and city stickers, yet the desk sergeant's W/C log will always state
that he made a check of the parking lot, and found no discrepancies? Instead of blasting the Inspectors (which I'm sure
many would rather be assigned elsewhere than Inspections), ask why the sergeants, lieutenants and cmdrs. aren't
catching the more obvious infractions (including hair off the collar, nails, etc.) of the personnel assigned to them
and correcting them before it falls under the scrutiny of an outside supervisor?

Old school. Many years ago there was an Inspector named Paul -----. One night in 020 he pulled up to the scene of a 10-1. He was one of the first cars to arrive at the scene. He stayed inside his car just a few feet away from where officers were fighting with a couple of dirt bags. After all was over, he called the Sgt over and told him that some of his patrol officers were going to be written up for not wearing their hats during the fight. He then drove away. The Sgt. reluctantly told the two officers what the inspector had said. They immediately got into their car and chased down the Inspector. They walked up to his car and dragged him through the car window and onto the street. They told him that they were going to get a CR number on him for not coming to their aid when they needed help. It ended there with the inspector laying in the street. I only wish that we had cell phones then as I would treasure that picture forever.

Sad part is, merit hacks encompass pretty much all of the upper echelon. The morale and crime stats display this. "Why the fuck are you in here, trying to take money out of the workin coppers pocket?"
"Get the fuck outta my station!"
I asked my FTO how could that happen, given both mens ranks?
FTO proceeded to give me the first of many lessons in how shit worked on the CPD.
"Listen kid...It aint about your rank" "It's about your clout" "That Sgt has plenty of heavy clout" " He aint to be fucked with".

FOP , they allowed city to get foot in the door , ONLY $1.00 per pay period for health insurance , sell outs
Think about it , take a hard look at what health insurance will be for retirees in 2017 , unless you hit lottery , u will all be working until 63 , maybe longer if tutu raises mandatory retirement age
keep voting these liars in office

Dear inspector gonzalez, I dare you to try that shit with me. First call, ambulance, second call, street deputy, third call, EEOC hostile work environment and last but not least fourth call, loevy and loevy!

- Signed-15 year veteran who will be able to retire after that!

And a big fuck you to the commander for covering up this shit.

While I admire your tenacity and angst, you really have no business being a policeman if you would even dial the number of those police hating liberal Andy Dick looking fucks, Loevy and Loevy.

I called them once to get a lawyer to sue the City and they wouldn't even ask me to come in with evidence, papers, or to hear my story. Fuck them is right. I just wanted to see what they might say and get their opinion. Don't ever bother.

Paul -----, as in Tas--?

Heard that while she ran the JISC there was only one department vehicle assigned to the unit. Of course she used this as her take home car and did not allow anyone else to use it leaving the dicks assigned there no vehicle for say a follow-up investigation, drive someone home or even to run out and grab lunch while working. All about me with her. Keep promoting the best and the brightest.

Off Topic - Medicare retired guy here. Any of you guys on medicate that the city will be dropping us (01/01/2017) have an suggestions regarding FOP-Sponsored -Aetna Health insurance they are pushing us to get from them, FOP letter says it' similar to the coverage they charged us for and at about $290.00 per person a month for the retiree and spouse. It includes an added benefit of dental and eye glasses.
I really had no use for FOP for many a year with their sell outs, fucking young copper', etc. I would bet, FOP got their hand in the cookie jar.
Any suggestions would be helpful to us pre dementia old copper'. I am lost with this shit. Thank you kindly.
I hate to predict the future of benefits for you young guys, I hope there is still a pension for you guys 10 years from now.

First question is How well rated in Aetna? Maybe google them and see their rating
Second, not sure you read it right about dental and eye glasses. Some have read it it covers only what Medicare covers and they don't cover dental or eye glasses. Think about it now we have a dental and eye plan thru FOP, separate from our city healthcare supplemental
My guess it only covers stuff like cataracts or special dental procedures covered by Medicare
I'm not saying what's included and could very well be wrong but I did see anywhere dental or vision PLAN just Medicare/ yes
Hope this gets clarified

Gets better at 63 and 65 when you get on Medicare, but premiums are high
Wife and I will pay either $292 or $335 depending on what plan I chose plus next year we will each be paying $243 a month for Medicare and that's without their 2017 increase for a total of about $1100 a month
Don't get me wrong it could be worse and we are not in the lowest Medicare category because I did what was a good idea and put money in deferred which I now have to withdraw because of the RMD
I am not complaining but just saying it's not as cheap as some think when on Medicare

I am having problems understanding the difference between the city's BC/BS and FOP Aetna policy. Can someone clarify
Friend responded with this
I called my doctors and they both currently accept Atena (since 2015). Instead of MAPD Plan they have NAPD Plan. They don't know why it's referred to differently?
Also they explained, (and I called Atena to confirm), that with this Plan we are Giving up Medicare card for the Atena, Medicare Advantage, prescription drug plan, with extended area service PPO. aka, Passive PPO.
ALSO, Atena doesn't have a plan for spouses Not on Medicare and recommend I call back After November 1st for additional information on spouses.
Additionally, Atena doesn't use CVS or Walgreens for the 90 day prescription refills. They have their own provider although the do use Walgreens and others for 30 day prescriptions.

Officers should be responsible for cleaning their own guns, period. Anyone carrying a semi-auto should be breaking it down and cleaning it a minimum of once a period.

That would be Kim Toy-Huh, the Black Widow. She retired several years ago and I heard she got married...again, to an Italian guy and moved to Italy. Who knows if he's still alive.

Kim is doing just fine, residing sometimes in Italy, other times back in Chi. Happily remarried and looking pretty good in her retirement years.

He's just biding his time until retirement. Has a kid in HS. He was decent enough when he was in 013. Never seemed to deliberately jam anyone up.
