Nice Job Officers

As the Department moves away from enforcing the law, hopefully we'll see more stories like this, because it's all the media will be able to report:
  • It's always nice to see an act of kindness, and on Friday, a few Chicago Police officers performed a great one, lending a helping hand to a young girl in need.

Around 3 p.m. Friday, officers were on a routine patrol through the Northwest Side 14th District when they came upon a traffic accident in the Logan Square neighborhood....

A car had crashed into a parked vehicle, so officers stopped to make sure everyone was okay. No one was injured [...], but they found a teenage girl in tears.

When the officers asked her what was wrong, she told them that she was upset because her family was getting ready to go to her commencement ceremony when their car was hit. She said the accident was going to cause her to miss her own graduation.

The officers offered to bring her to the ceremony, so she grabbed her cap and gown and hopped in the squad car. She made it to North Grand High School with just minutes to spare....
Nice job Officers, you certainly made her day.

Hope this makes News nation wide, off what are officers out there doing to help those that can use the help and will accept the hand of an officer. No this wasn't some rapper, or a gangster role model that many folks in the hood look up to and they want the Police to cater to them, it was someone who in life wants to be a productive citizen and reaching meaningful life goals!!!Great Job officer's!!! AND Congratulations Kid you deserve all the attention Good luck to you out there in this crazy world!

I don't know about you SCC but it seems that law enforcement was always a secondary function within the CPD. I believe The Chicago Police Department was a political entity first and foremost and a law enforcement agency second!

The Media treats his like an anomaly? Believe me, things like this happen every day. We are not thugs. We truly do serve and protect.

With all the Police hating by the Newsmedia, I'm shocked this drew any attention from the Newsmedia. Must have been a real slow news day!

Isn't the rule, no unauthorized persons in police vehicles? It was good what the officers did, but why take a change now a days.

That's the common sense this Department needs.
Good work guys, when her friends are talking crap how bad the police are, she will have better story to tell them.

This is bullshit. Strip those officers immediately for leaving the district & place them in callback.

Too bad this story is not played in endless loops on the local news

It would be nice for a change - even though it does not fit the local news narrative

Not a cop here just a reader from another state, will be in Chicago in a few days for business. Kind of nervous about being there though. Cops do nice things all the time but there is not always a camera around to record THOSE things. Gentlemen, trust me, there is a lot of support out there for our law enforcement officers. Cops have always been kind to me (even when I was getting arrested). I wouldn't shut my mouth and said some pretty horrid stuff to them (I was drunk (but not resisting)(no excuse though))and still they were not mean or ugly about it,just matter-of-fact. I deserved arresting and probably alot more too. That's been 20 yrs ago. Anyway, thanks to these officers for this kind act, and thank you to all law enforcement officers for the jobs you do every single day. There is a sane population out there and we know you are very much needed. Thanks again. Just a citizen.

Don't let the gang members in North Lawndale find this out, they will all demand a ride to the liquor store, dope house, next company to rob or a ride to they momma's dope den, stolen merchandise and prostitute group home!
