Not a Cartel Hit

  • After six of his relatives were brutally slain in their Gage Park home in February, Diego Uribe was among the grieving family members struggling to cope with the unspeakable loss.

He'd visited the Martinez family's tidy brick bungalow often, coming over to hang out or play basketball with the kids. Uribe, 22, seemed devastated by the killings, even breaking down in tears at the funeral.

"I hugged this kid," said Dawn Valenti, a crisis responder who assisted the Martinez family with the burial.

That image was shattered Thursday as Chicago police announced shocking first-degree murder charges against Uribe, saying the nephew by marriage had killed all six victims — including two children — in a robbery that turned into a massacre. His girlfriend, Jafeth Ramos, 19, was also charged in the six killings, but police were cagey about her exact role in the slayings.
"police were cagey"? Got to get that dig in no matter what, eh? Don't worry, the defense attorney will get all that info at discovery. No need to start laying the foundation for the murderers already Tribune.

Here's a touch we don't hear often enough though:
  • "These people behind me have been living and breathing this case for nearly four months now, working well beyond their normal work hours to bring this case to a resolution" said [Chief of Detectives Eugene] Roy, flanked by nearly a dozen detectives. "I can't begin to count how many family and social events they missed because of their dedication."
A job very well done by all involved.

I can't believe it was a robbery gone bad, by a relative, no less. Just when you think it can't get more fucked up, it does. Nice job to the det.'s involved.

????? Wow, that is more shocking than if it would have BEEN a cartel hit.

Killing all of them in a botched up robbery? Was he thinking straight - or was he hopped up on drugs? And what about the girlfriend? She just went along with all of it?

These people have no hearts or souls. Scary. Too bad the death penalty is not an option. Taxpayers should NOT have to pay for their room and board for life.

Good job, NO - GREAT job to the police investigating and putting together the pieces.

In a way, it's good to hear that it wasn't a cartel hit, but it sure looked like one.

The DP doesn't have to apply to all convicted murderers, but only in special circumstances: Multiple Victims, Police Office(s) / Law Enforcement, Contract Killing, and a Young Person -- like that Nine year old boy who was Executed. Even California has the Death Penalty for 'Special Circumstances'.

Is Illinois more loopy than those nuts? Or does that *Special Kind Of Stupid* our politicians have prevent even the mention of reinstating the Death Penalty.

OT: speaking of criminal cartels.....

I’m sorry I missed the last FOP meeting. Had a little get together with some retired Dic’s from an area that is no longer open and learned the following Rich Aguilar had the balls to show up at the FOP meeting this past Tuesday. Rick cares so much about the men and women of the CPD he has not made a meeting in the last two and a half years. He left after signing the book. Total time at FOP was about12 minutes!

To those with a short memory Richie was in charge of grievances. Richie boy coasted for his last five or so years in office and did nothing. He was a major player in backstabbing Shields and submarining the membership willing to screw us out of a raise in order to stay in office. Yes boys and girls the shitty-wide team are like cock roaches and are back again.

Sid Davis the military man without code or honor destroyed all of the audio recordings during the Shields administration in order to cover the tracks of the shitty-wide team. And when it was time to step up to the plate and defend a vet he turned tail and allowed Aguilar and Dougherty to screw over him in the last election. He has just started showing up at meetings again. Total time at meeting 10 minutes.

And I'm just learning that a former City-Wide board member used his home computer to get anonymous complaints at IAD on fellow police officers. And DiMaria worked vigorously at hiding his identity!

But the main player is Dougherty who at the alleged direction of Mark Donahue removed Shields from office with a 50% vote when a 2/3rds vote was needed. And the Shields suit is going to cost us a lot of money because of it!

This was all done under the cover of then state president Street at the behest of Mark “the puppet master” Donahue. Street has been banished for life from the FOP.

Food for thought if any of these rat bastards ask for your vote again.

Think kill some people and then your paid not to do it from cash strapped honest law abiding taxpayers. You made a killing on the OT for the case, you flew to Mexico to swab someone ( and brought lt Ozzie) and in the end didn't the real "tip" come from a retired detective that tipped you off that you "forgot" to swab a certain family member (I mean offender) so before you go off and start your book tours let's not forget that the stage you stood on should have had a few more people on it but their involvement would have made you look like misfits.

FUCK YOU ASSHOLE. Any time you want to give up your bullshit 9am to 1pm job suspending all your and join a homicide team go in the office and sign up. Then you can work your day off and get paid.
Area Central has some of the biggest assholes on the department. You know who you are. You are the assholes that don't do shit during a police shooting except eat the fucking pizzas. You know like the jagoff with the shoulder holster and three stooges tie who got caught trying to take a whole pizza home.
Area Central is a fucking ghost town on weekends unless of course it's a holiday then they come in for a couple hours.
Again, FUCK YOU Sherlock Holmes. If you had it figured out you should of told those of us that don't know shit.

This whole Shields things stinks. Let's have a trial and see what happens. Why pay Shields after his giant screw up? No one stood up for Mike Shields when he got launched. So why is FOP in such a hurry now to pay the guy? AND...didn't the State Lodge throw Shields out AND.... already toss him $100k?

5/20/2016 09:20:00 PM

Frank you lying sack of shit:

Shields was proven RIGHT. They found at least one phoney arbitration in the files.

11 of us stood up for Shields. Jimmy boy put us on the internet and YOU lied and impeded the criminal investigation.

Pay him now or three and half times as much after trial? Since I hear this board is going to sue the parties responsible for screwing Shields and the rest of the membership YOU need to ask your city-wide crew do you want to pay a little or a lot? Billy boy IS going to be sued.

The State president has been removed. But DOUGHERTY also removed Shields in an illegal action. We told Billy boy he was wrong but he said he did not see it that way. So Billy, Frankie, Richie, Sal, Jimmy, Danny and Sidney how do you want to divide the settlement?

If this board has any balls they will bring, Bill, Frank, and Sidney up on charges one minute after the Shields sit is over. If they don’t we will.

Thanks for a job well done by everyone involved. That was one that must be solved and cleared by arrest. The correct arrest. It would be nice if the primary detectives involved were introduced at the news conference as others have posted. I miss the days of DiLeonardi, Wodnicki and McCarthy where they would have the players on the news with them. It was always re assuring as a citizen to see all those cops up there. You knew if you were to be murdered, someone was likely going to be held responsible. Of course that was in the days of Daley I and those cops meant business. The good old days.

5/20/2016 09:14:00 PM

You have the nerve to put DiLionardi up there? Some of us remember. He never met a camera he didn't like, taking credit for other peoples work. Not to bright but an ego the size of Texas for no good reason. He was delusional. Remember when he wanted the taxpayers to install bullet proof glass in his house because he said the mob was out to get him? Like I said, delusional. Janie made a mistake putting him in as actor and fixed it pretty quickly.

Dean has called for a special board meeting next week. Its regarding Mike Shields. Dean is going to write him a check. There is no way that Shields should get a penny of our money. His lawsuit is about being a whistle blower. Everything he claimed was proven false.your statement is false There is no investigation from the IG's office, but Dean is going to pay him anyway, just like the city pays the mutts.

Since FOP's insurance policy was max'd for that time frame due to the shenanigans in the Donahue tenure should we pay 100k or take the chance on 350K? It's OUR money and all due to the illegal action actions of the City-Wide team?

Whistler blower is only 25% of his case from what I hear. The illegal action by Dougherty and his Henchmen to remove Shield w/o a 66% vote is the major issue.

Please express your opinions. Pay a little or pay a lot more?

Remember the jury will know the state already settled.

Do you pay $350 and fix a leaky seal on your transmission or run it and take a chance on a $3000 bill?

Pay a little now or take a chance?

Unions especially police unions are not in favor right now. A jury from crook county could hammer us. I say settle. Minimize our exposure.

If we go to court and the judge/jury sates the Dougherty crew screwed Shields I say then sue them or throw them out for life or both depending on how bad the decision is.

It's not a secret meeting. I believe it's an extra board meeting. Dean could not tell you what was going to happen in court on Friday at Tuesday's general meeting unless he has a crystal ball.

But if you have your own agenda then everything is a conspiracy.

Question for you: write a small check or roll the dice? It's our money.

You miserable motherfucker. Are you never happy about anything? "They" can never do anything that's good enough for you. Should they have introduced each officer/detective by name, brought them up to the Mic so everyone can see their face, given them a minute of two to speak so they get all the recognition you feel they deserve, and then stand up and call for a round of applause for them too? What the fuck is wrong with you? There were people standing up their who did a lot of work on the case, and a few that did very little, other than filter a few notification up to those they are supposed to keep updated, but it is what it is. All of the people involved in the investigation did a great job and they'll get an award in recognition. How many men and women on this job do some exceptional work each and every day? A LOT! Should we all get a little face time with the media? Maybe the Department can put out a list of names of officers who did good this week and the media can run it during the late night news too. WTF, must you be miserable like dog shit in a gym shoe all the time? They got some PR (That they probably didn't want but were forced to be the speaker's human backdrop anyway), they got accolades and they'll get recognized with an award for their diligent work. Maybe you want to get them a little bonus in next week's check and an extra week vacation too. Or is this just that the brass can never do enough for you? You're a misguided miserable motherfucker.

Please don't listen to the "if you don't carry a .45 plus p ++++++ you can't play". As we all know, people are not all the same, depending on your size, strength etc. you want a firearm that fits you're hand properly, you want it loaded with the biggest round that YOU can quickly and accurately put multiple rounds in VITAL areas of the target....nothing else matters ! The medical people will tell you about "flight/fight" tunnel vision, adrenaline dump and all that other good stuff that happens to you when it's real, can't duplicate that on the range people but it will happen and none of it will help you to win.The firearm you can't properly hold with the CTA bus stopping rounds that light up the night but cause you to miss or take too long to recover from aint your friend either. The one who carries a firearm they can control and practices as much as possible has the best chance of coming out on top,if that's a .45 or a 380 so be it.There aint no magic bullets or guns, that's all marketing b.s.! Present, get on target, hit vital areas as fast as possible until offender is no longer a threat, use the most comfortable platform to launch the biggest bullet YOU can hit with fast and often.

P.S. I'm not looking for a pissing contest with all you tough guys out there, I was in the Military for a few days, spent a couple more in L.E. had the Honor of doing Arizona when Jeff Cooper was the instructor, Currently making a good buck training and the guy in the range booth with you observing your target and stance, the one you give that embarrassed look to while explaining it must be the gun,or the lighting or.......Take my advise or leave it.

The take-away on your post is that you think you're the only one
who has done any kind of firearms training, served in the military,
are/have been The Police and have "Seen The Elephant" more

Seen big, strong men who can't shoot worth a damn
regardless of what they have in their hands.

Seen small statured women and men handle .45 ACP and 10mm
with aplomb and put a few "seen the elephant" hard-ons
to shame.

Now what?

I worked a case once, with about ten other people, and we poured our hearts, souls and a lot of family time into that case. When we finally made that case and sent the guy away for serious fed time, we all went out to dinner to 'celebrate'. Everybody made it through the adult beverage. We ordered food. People picked at it, pushed it across the plate, and pretty much gave up the 'celebrating'. There's something that sets in at the end of a huge case, whether it's the void of having nothing more to do, or simply being spent at the end of it, or exhaustion, or loss of purpose. It's a weird phenomenon and I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't live through it.
If they were venting, or celebrating, or just reluctant to let that one thing (they were all-in focused on) go, it's okay. Belittling them, though? You sound jealous. Not better than them. Jealous and petty. Leave it alone.

???????

The State FOP lodge President illegally removed Shields from office. He had no right to do so. He was in the bag with the City-Wide team members.

While illegally suspended from office Acting-President Bill Dougherty hand picked a hearing committee of City-Wide team members to conduct a predetermined decision to remove Shields from office. (Just like Rahm's Task Force)

The board of directors voted on that recommendation. BUT they could NOT muster a two-thirds vote. But Dougherty wrongly stated he only needed a simple majority. This is where FOP is liable.

The same tactic was then used at the state level to remove the then state president's opponent in their upcoming election. The state president has been or is about to be expelled from FOP for that. (If anyone knows what the state lodge is doing on that please post it).

Shields could have been removed from office IF they did it correctly. But even if they did it correctly they did NOT have enough votes to do it. He only had a couple of months left in office.

And that's why FOP today is on the hook for the actions of Bill Dougherty about two and a half years ago.

I say settle, BUT if you go to court and lose then ALL of the people who illegally removed Shields from office should be forced to pay that settlement. Starting with Dougherty and the rest of the board that held that press conference on TV. Just like a third world Latin American revolution.
