Nice Job Big Mouth

  • A federal judge put City Hall in a pickle Wednesday, ruling that Mayor Rahm Emanuel may be called to testify during a civil trial about the Chicago Police Department’s notorious code of silence.

But U.S. District Judge Gary Feinerman said he reluctantly made the ruling only because city lawyers turned agnostic in court on the question of whether such a code exists — promising not to deny it when a whistleblower lawsuit goes to trial, but refusing to confirm it. Meanwhile, Emanuel has already acknowledged the code in a speech to the City Council last December.
Too bad we can't slip the lawyers a few bucks to ask some truly pointed questions if the mayor ends up under oath. Rahm might actually spontaneously combust.

One would think that former mayor mumbles would possess far more intimate knowledge relevant to the issues at hand.

First, the so-called code of silence hasn't existed in a couple of decades. Second, how the hell would Rahm Emanuel know if it did? What would be his evidence? Just what could he attest to, firsthand? Anecdotes? His uncle's war stories? That trumped up commission report?
Oh, this'll be interesting.

SCC, I'm glad we are having a music discussion. I think that Code of Silence by The Police is kind of hard to find in Chicago. Also, a lot of people don't acknowledge that this was a cover of the original, from Chicago R&B legends, Chalky & The Dindoonuffins. I see that they are still performing nightly in Gresham, Englewood, and other neighborhoods. Their summer concert series is really heating up!
See what I did here? Pretty clever if I do say so myself.

Now if the FOP was smart they would challenge the residency issue.
Yes it is a left field move but, when rham opens his mouth he puts his
check book on the line.

There is an Illinois Supreme court ruling regarding residency. And it can be used
against the condition of employment rule.

Another big mouth and police protestor got arrested last week.

A retired Chicago Public Schools principal running to become president of the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of telephone harassment, police said Friday.

Former Prosser Career Academy Principal Ken Hunter, 63, surrendered Tuesday to officers in the Jefferson Park District and was placed in custody for allegedly harassing a woman with numerous text messages, police spokesman Frank Giancamilli said.

A police report says the 44-year-old woman reported receiving 20 to 30 text messages a day from Hunter. She told him to stop and he refused, the report said.

The report said Hunter admitted texting the woman numerous times, according to Giancamilli, who didn’t have any details about the contents of the texts.

Hunter was released after posting $1,500 bail, Giancamilli said. His next court date is June 13.

Hunter is facing embattled Chicago Public Schools Principal Troy LaRaviere to head the principals’ association.

Troy LaRaviere
Troy LaRaviere, who is facing termination as principal of Blaine Elementary.

LaRaviere was removed last month as principal of Blaine Elementary School in Lake View. On Thursday, LaRaviere held a news conference to say CPS is moving to fire him for failing in part to fill out paperwork needed to evaluate his teachers, which he considered a waste of time and which didn’t create more effective teachers.

A hearing into the LaRaviere case was held Wednesday, and on Friday, a Chicago Public Schools hearing officer recommended that LaRaviere be suspended without pay, CPS said. That recommendation now goes to the Illinois State Board of Education, and eventually back to the Chicago Board of Education to vote on a final course of action.

LaRaviere, 45, has been a vocal critic of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and contends the mayor’s administration is worried about his promise to give principals a bigger voice in how schools are run.

LaRaviere said he wouldn’t use Hunter’s arrest to “capitalize on this to make my opponent look bad.”

“I am very adverse to making judgments on people based on accusations,” he said. “I am always concerned that people make judgments before the legal system has run its course, so I am certainly not going to make one myself.”

Hunter didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

Will rahm do a mumbling Daley routine, then get a million dollar job? Can't testify no you refuse wonder why? Somethings to hide?

Maybe Rahm will fake a stroke to avoid testifying. It worked for Daley.

There's no greater "code of silence" than the one amongst politicians. Maybe he can talk about that

Well if the little dancer can prove a code of silence then he should show his evidence. I think the aldermen have a code of silence as do the doctors, lawyers, priests, but can I prove it no.
I think 8f they get the little rat under oath they should ask him all kinds of questions .

This is no problem for Rahm. He is just going to say that the police have a code of silence. I would like the other side to ask him if the politicians have a code of silence. Like why wasn't Daley forced to testify about the deals given out for the restaurants in Millennium Park? How come the only one who took the blame for the the release, or non-release f the McDonald shooting was McCarthy? Who knew about the video and what deal was made not to put it out before the election? How many deals has he made with donors that received sweetheart deals with he city? How come he backed off his original plan to reduce the number of Aldermen and get rid of Burke as chair of Finance? It goes on and on. It is crazy that a politician in Chicago is accusing cops of having a code of silence. The code of silence among the politicians puts the Mafias code of silence to shame.

If there was really some "code of silence", this blog wouldn't exist. People can't wait to run to their phone or computer to post everything they know about everybody's business. That's the exact opposite of a code of silence.

Sit Rahm in the witness chair and
compel testimony.

Watch that little shit-ass break out in hives.

He was "too smart" to ever end up in the
witness chair under ANY circumstances.

That's shit for you peed-on peons to
worry about.

"Winners" like Rahm have no time
for little pissant, penny-ante concerns
like court testimony.

Nothing will ever beat the 12 hour marathon Q & A session Rahm had to endure prior to being allowed on the ballot during his first run for mayor.

That was pure entertainment, especially some of the characters who were allowed to take the floor and ask questions. And there was Emanuel, probably tranquilized with a couple of doses of valium, taking it all in with a vacuous disinterested look on his face.

There was enough material that day for some playwright to base a play on it.

There is an Illinois Supreme court ruling regarding residency. And it can be used

Dean suggested the other day at the meeting, officers should move their families out and rent a apartment with several officers for the week. Your family is safe and you have legal residency within the city.

OK so I'm an SCC addict! Read on here about pension funding, so went down to pension board to speak to the "big man" in person! Well apparently as we all know rahm skyrocketed real estate taxes, to fund police pensions so far so good! ahh but the money pur money is not deposited as required no it is sitting in the Chicago treasurers account so without that money deposited we have max of 8 years left until fund is belly up! you younger coppers pay attention a big reason you took this totally destroyed job was because of getting a promised pension and you dutifully every check deposit vast amounts and then poof it's gone! To pile on more fire got rid of that theft "gold braid bill" and they get pension at highest civil service rank not like our exempts and the security specialist title who get huge amounts,no test just you are connected joing the 6 figure drain the pension fund for patrol officers! Hey Bruce and Eddie dean of the city council come on we know you put many in exempt positions but the time to jump on the train is now "abolish gold braids immediately"

Hold on a minute that pension fund is ours, why not let us the lemmings vote on Gold braid theft? they definitely don't deserve it,and the pigs come back and get another 6 figure job depriving another person that needs that job of a decent income! As the late great comedienne RIP Joan Rivers would open with "can we talk?" well can we! Or will be like the great President George Bush who said after the Arabs struck on 9/11 "You will hear us now" Now whats it going to be how loudly do you want to hear us elected? The Trump train is rolling can you imagine how much lowly street coppers could help root put all this corruption here? How much we know?

It's Funny, Never a Word ever mentioned about the Biggest "Code of Silence", the one between Politicians, and the other one by the News Media Reporters and Agencies. Yeah, Never a F'n Word about their constant and continual covering up for each others Lies. Then there's another Code of Silence never discussed. The one between the Politicians and the News Media. Care to comment on that, Rahmmie or News Media? No? Didn't think so , Hypocrites. Liberals all exist in their World of Hypocrisy, where they do everything bad that they accuse everyone else of, but it never applies to them, in their little Pinhead World.
