Brilliant Observation

  • A non-resident fee would allow Chicago to generate income without repeatedly adding to the tax burden of Chicago residents. It is time to ask suburban residents who are vested in Chicago by means of their employment to invest in the future of the city.
Someone pointed out this interpretation that slipped by us:
  • "The citizens of Chicago cannot and should not continue to subsidize non-resident workers through tax increases, resident fee increases and higher utilization fees."

Wait a second, just wait a fucking second... WHY NOT?!?

We've been doing it for Illegal Aliens all day long who enter into this Country, but if it's done on a City Level, now it's somehow wrong?
A legit question. Suburbanites would have less rights that illegal aliens under this proposal...and that's just fine according to Cardenas.

OK - let's look at this proposal and put together some "equalizing actions in return for my contributions (revenues)".

If you are going to tax me - I want a VOTE in the Mayoral elections - as well as a representative Alderman on City Council. Let's see, first we cut out 25 Aldermen from Chicago and then add - Hmmmmmm, How many Suburban aldermen?

How many workers do you think come into the city? Maybe enough for 25 positions? We'll just take over the desks and offices of the 25 City Aldermen that get flushed out.

Next, if we are going to pay for all the deadwood, we need people to come out and do lawn work and general maintenance on our houses.

Let's see some buses of people coming out here to do yard work and lawn care. They need to earn some of that entitlement that they get every month.

Taking a nice bus ride out to the suburbs to work will give them new hope they can assimilate into society as a productive worker.

Crazy logic? That's what happens when you pass the crackpipe around.

AND other Aldermen are proposing to legalize weed in order to balance the budget? Chicago has a real brain trust when it comes to City Council.

Illegal aliens is a awful/hurtful term. Paperless immigrants is much better. Our president, who is a constitutional scholar, recently announced that paperless immigrants have all the rights, privileges and protections of native born citizens. The only difference is they lack the same documents.

City needs revenue? Charge at the park districts for use of the facilities! How many illegal aliens are using these parks! Come to the Ag school on Tuesday night family swim, at least 20 to 30 of them in the pool, then check parking lot city stickers from alsip, worth, blue island etc. or no city stickers! Now that's revenue! Oh what have to keep the freebies for the non-citizens of this counrty, state and city!

I live in the suburbs and work in the city (moved from the city 8 years ago). I’m not sure how I am using up city services. I take METRA then the CTA; when I eat out or shop, I pay a tax that feeds the city coffers; if I am transported to a hospital via Paramedics, I’ll be billed for their services; if I drive in and park, I pay a city tax; if I get a ticket, I pay the city and on and on. The building I live in pays utilities and I’m sure the city gets a piece of that. What exactly am I not paying for? I do not know what I am missing here.

Cardenas meal ticket is illegal aliens. After all you don't need no ID to vote. The more he gets in and gives hands out to. The more votes he will get. Sounds illegal. It is. But it's Chicago and no one will ever investigate it.

Suburbanites work in the city. They eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the city. The food insn't free. They buy gifts in th city on their lunch breaks or after work in the city. That isn't free. Suburbanites have work paties in the city. They go out for drinks after work in the city. Suburbanites spend plenty in the city.

I am a Chicago Police Officer. I live in the Northwest corner of the 016th Dist. I don't eat in the city. I don't buy my groceries in the city. My gym membership isn't in the city. I don't buy my gas in the city.

CHICAGO is asshole central. Anyone suggesting a tax for suburbanites is an idoit. Just STFU!!!!!

They already pay at least 3X the amount we pay! Every suburb that gets fresh clean Chicago water charges a fee to transport it three their pipeline! Example Chicago to Bedford park, to willow springs,to orland park tax tax tax get it!

Let's go with extra charges for all attractions would bring in millions, the suburbs don't have beaches, museums, United center, wrigley, soldier field, sox park, and on and on! I worked in detail unit, majority of people that have to much money waste it here, look at the city stickers they are not from Chicago how about it George" "curious George"

This city is doing everything it can to be the next Detroit. On July 1st the city's minimum wage goes up to $10 per hour. Then every single year it goes up by 0.75 cents. By 2019 it will be $13 per hour. Oh the nightmare doesn't end there for business owners. After 2019 it has to go up by the rate of inflation.

Most small businesses can not afford this added cost.

George if it moves tax it! Chicago like the state and government takes in trillions in taxes and then gives it away to family and friends. Sort of like the mob have to skim the cream off the top! Ever see a poor politician? Of course not! Look at every bill you pay, lay home value dropped according to my recent tax assessment but yet my taxes will rise how does that work? Starting June 1st 2015, I am going to record absolutely all tax my family pays in 1 month bet it's a huge percentage! When will taxpayers wake up? Politically we elected them and they give our money away to people illegally here, to people that cause criminal acts. I'm all for helping the poor and elderly and of course veterans, but giving our money away as the politicians sit in splendor something is wrong with this!

We have us hard working coppers who missed so much during their career, weddings family events, been stressed out, many of us are sick, some die early, we protect the innocent and the criminal, but yet they want to reduce or eliminate our pensions! Why is our union head negotiating anything to reduce our pension? Obama made a speech today about police, how about you support us? How about many of us worked or our working other jobs to receive social security credit, but due to an extremely rich politician Dan rostenkowski we lose 2/3rds of our benefits that needs to change and now! Also stop elected putting your foot on the throat of retirees and constantly raising their health care costs that's an act of aggression, to make a man or woman that gave so much to get so little!

Good idea - start charging the illegals for some of the stuff they just walk into.

BAD IDEAS? Charging suburbanites or taxing them.

Want to do that, how about taxing pensions regular state income tax (3%) and any out-of-state pension (20%).

Or, how about just CUTTING pensions down to $60,000 a year max? Plus no double-dipping pensions, no gold-braid BS, and no COLA on pension.

Oh, not fair? Bullshit idea?

Oh, taxing me is OK, but cutting back a bloated, out-of-control, underfunded for years, pension is hands-off?

Sorry, you (as a voter) voted your politicians in in Chicago, you guys fix it or live with the problems.

Time for all suburbanites to avoid everything in the city like the plague.

And the person who suggested to raise rates at the different attractions, smart move. Let only the people who are the 1% be able to bring their kids in to see museums and the Art Institute.

It already costs an arm-and-a-leg to bring in a family of 5-6 into any of the museums. Oh, and pay for parking and pay for a meal downtown.

Here's some food for thought:

Will those CPS teachers violating the CPS Residency Policy have to pay the commuter tax? Not only do these teachers get paychecks from the city without paying any kind of Chicago taxes. But, because they're faking living in the city they will not have to pay Cardenas' commuter tax.

Taft High School employs 8-9 teachers who live in the suburbs and are violating the CPS Residency Policy. Yet, CPS does nothing about them. One 'moo-moo' PE teacher (Chad Nishibayashi) is one of three Nishibayashi family members who work as PE teachers at Taft. Chad has the balls to go live in Northbrook after being hired as Chicago resident (he lived with his parents on N. Bernard Ave.). So, Chad is circumventing the residency policy by continuing to give his parent's address as his residence because he couldn't get a residency waiver (as PE is a need basis subject area), this allows certain teachers hired as non-Chicago residents to live outside Chicago on a 3 yr. renewable waiver based on need.

Chad and his brother Brett got hired over other more qualified candidates without an interview process for the positions they were given because of their father Nick's relationship with Taft's old principal Arthur Tarvardian. Here's where Chad lives:

http://www.whitepages.com/name/Chad-K-Nishibayashi/Northbrook-IL/a9abeig

The three Nishibayashis did get nailed for nepotism as the father was Taft's AD and his sons worked under him as coaches. read the link here:

http://www.tafths.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=206963&type=u&termREC_ID=&pREC_ID=395519

Taft also has two music teachers who live in Aurora and Brookfield, a history teacher who lives in Hickory Hills, and 4-5 other teachers who live in Harwood Heights, Norridge, Niles, and Morton Grove.

What does CPS and the city do about all of them? Nothing of course as these teachers are connected and know where the bodies are buried.

Rauner himself is a former private equity executive who managed hundreds of millions of dollars from public pension funds (including some in Illinois). As the pension funding crisis has become increasingly acute, he has avoided talking about how his own industry may have contributed to the crisis: specifically, through high fees and underperformance -- and, according to a new report, influence peddling.

The analysis comes from researchers at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, University of California at Berkeley’s School of Law, and the University of Oregon. It indicates that pension investments hawked by the finance industry’s politically connected salesmen -- known as “placement agents” -- are delivering inferior returns in comparison with investments that pension officials pick on their own. Rauner’s firm, GTCR, in which he retains a substantial equity stake, admits in SEC filings that it
uses placement agents to raise money from public pension funds. William Atwood, the executive director of the Illinois State Board of Investment, told International Business Times that GTCR had used a placement agent to raise money from a state pension fund.

Yep this is called voting against your own best interests when you made this thief Governor, Suckers
