Back to the new Sgts list and everyone who thinks it was legit just cuz there were no merit picks this go 'round. Ask the 3 from 014 if being in Cpt. Buslicks "special study group" helped them rank in the top 25. The same Cpt. who was a "subject matter expert" for the test.

YEAH ITS ALL LEGIT. KEEP BELIEVING THAT YOU F^*£ING SIMPLETONS

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" - test tone that used to be broadcast along with the lovely pattern for about 20 mins., allowing working people time to wake up on the couch, shake it off, and get to bed, keeping the busy morning in mind.

Imagine this coming over today's giant wall screens, in a house that never sleeps...

"OOOOOOOOOOOO."

Even A&O would call 911 to report it, demand immediate action.

ET test was a joke. Test had several grammatical errors and content that was outside the scope of tasks, duties and responsibilities of what an ET would encounter. Why would who is responsible for notifying the MEs office of a death in custody be on an ET test? Why is the time a juvenile can be held in secure custody a part of an ET test? How does the DSS being able to waive a Juvys prints after 45 minutes relate to what an ET does? Why would the DSS be responsible for verifying a warrant revealed upon fingerprints clearing be on an ET test?

Is the DSS responsible for printing hospitalized arrestees? No, he or she isn't. So why would an aspiring ET need to know that BIA is responsible for okaying a PO getting his/her weapon back after an OOP is rectified and s/he is returned to full duty status? Makes absolutely no sense.

Will there be an open review for everyone that took the test to contest questions? Will they throw out questions that weren't relevant to whan an ET is responsible for?

PS - Piss poor logistics on getting test takers signed in. Doors were supposed to close at 0900, but there was still a 3/4 block line waiting to get in. Test didn't start til 0940. Afterwards, jerkoff proctor in front shooing people away that were waiting for rides claiming that "people inside [still taking the test] can hear you guys talking about the test", even though there wasn't window the first open and we were 75 feet away from the the building.

Another typical CPD clusterfuck with only the best and brightest in charge of what should have run smoothly. The convicted felon proctors at the sergeants exam were more capable than the bonestrokes trying to check people in yesterday.

Another reason to hate the media...

Rick Telander...if you, along with everyone else knew that Milton Bradley was kicking the shit out of his wife while he played here, why didn't YOU write anything about it at the time??

Why didn't YOU call Bradley out when he made that ridiculous claim of racism suffered by his 5 year old son?

Bradley claimed his son's white, female kindergarten teacher told his son "your dad is Milton Bradley who plays for the Cubs?? Your dad is an n-word"

Nonsense

There are always secret study groups. A recent promotee along with a couple others were in one held by a Commander. After doing well (better than anyone could believe), the lies began flowing and they attributed their success to a publicized study group no one saw them at. It also helps if a parent used to be assigned to Personnel. I would have more respect if they were made via merit. At least they wouldn't have the chance to lie to your face and pretend they are smart.

Anyone have any insight on whether the city is allowed to use the merit spots they didn't use on this class on a future class? Is that up to 30% merit for each class?

i agree, especially since the study material included Special Order S03-04-03 that says an evidence technician will not be assigned for non-evidence-technician functions...
so why the hell did they test us on so much non-evidence-technician related material?

Man i got 6 wrong for sure after i left and checked the answers im sure to expect another mishap or two....i agree with older post i focused too much on et responsibilities good thing im a well rounded officer so i knew some things but how the hell was i supposed to know all of ipra, bia, street deputy disciplinary procedures am i going to get that job? I dropped the ball on one juvie ? and the marine unit ? the thing thats disheartening is i know there are people who got perfect scores and had the answers so if you had got more than 3 of the 77 ? Wrong you are out i heard last et test they only took 80 guys off of list dont know how true it us but hey whatever ....on to the detective test ....all we foot soilders can do is keep grinding

these problems and challenges to test scoring is why we need a class off the existing list to be up and running for summer!

I always associate the test pattern with the "Seal Of Good Practice" appearing at the end of TV shows. Ah, our old blond wood Magnavox black-and-white.

"The Code of Practices for Television Broadcasters was a set of ethical standards adopted by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) for television. The code was established on December 6, 1951. Compliance with the code was indicated by the "Seal of Good Practice", displayed during closing credits on most United States television programs, and on some US TV station sign-on and sign-offs from 1952 through the early 1980s.

"The code prohibited the use of profanity, the negative portrayal of family life, irreverence for God and religion, illicit sex, drunkenness and addiction, presentation of cruelty, detailed techniques of crime, the use of horror for its own sake, and the negative portrayal of law enforcement officials, among others. The code regulated how performers should dress and move to be within the "bounds of decency". Further, news reporting was to be "factual, fair and without bias" and commentary and analysis should be "clearly defined as such". Broadcasters were to make time available for religious broadcasting and were discouraged from charging religious bodies for access. Most importantly, it limited the commercial minutes per hour.

"In the wake of a settlement with the Justice Department, the code was suspended in 1983."

14 Apr 2015, I was watching FOX32 morning news when I noticed something rather interesting: ...... 6:04a, Jon Kelley reported news about new audio from NC police officer, Michael Slager, that shot an unarmed black man.
Why does Fox point out that the unarmed man was black?? When black kids are wilding on Michigan Ave or punching women in the head in the South Loop, they (news outlets) leave out the "black" part.

And then, ..... at 6:05a, Melody Mendez reports about manslaughter charges brought against a volunteer sheriff's deputy "... for killing an unarmed BLACK man..." in Tulsa County.

Again, why the "black". It's manslaughter, period.
