Another Investigation?

  • Federal authorities are investigating Chicago Public Schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett and a $20.5 million contract the district awarded on a no-bid basis to a training academy that formerly employed her, sources said.

The CPS inspector general's office began an investigation into the contract with north suburban-based SUPES Academy and Byrd-Bennett's relationship to the company in 2013, a source said. The U.S. attorney's office then started its own probe, and a grand jury has been reviewing evidence for at least a year, the source said.

CPS officials have discussed the possibility of appointing an interim CEO depending on the outcome of the investigation, a source said. Byrd-Bennett, who was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel in October 2012, attended a regularly scheduled meeting at CPS headquarters Wednesday and remains in her post.
For such a "squeaky clean" guy who promised reform and a break with the past corruption, he sure seems to have a lot of people committing felonies under his nose...just like the bad old days.

Not a cop but I work in the IT field. Taking a look at the CPS Procurement website makes me fucking sick to my stomach at the open waste and fucking obvious fraud that is never discussed. CPS last year alone paid 100 million to Sentintel Technologies and that does not even cover the day to day operations of all the damn schools. So you dig deeper there is another 9 million to ATT for the phones, another 4.5 million for fucking cell phones, 32 million for school supplies the teachers and principals bitch about not having, another 27 million for chromebooks, another 12 million to operate the datacenter, etc. It is disgusting that this information is open to the public and never fucking questioned. CPS has been known for years to be a fradulent waste of money but for whatever reason Rahm has been afraid or turned a blind eye to the theft.

A drop of piss in the ocean of criminal financial Fuckery at CPS...

BBB is the diversionary fall girl?

(Was Brizzard crazy like a fox?
He must be laughing up his sleeve at this shit.)

Feds energetically barking up the wrong fucking tree.
Again...

The Rotten-assed w1%-er banking and finance shysters who sold all those fucked-up investment vehiclesthat are draining the financial life-blood from the city via CPS.

Funny... Rahm sez: "Well, a contract is a contract..."
Funny... He doesn't feel that way with the teachers union or any other union for that matter.

Those same shysters who provided Rahm with his obscene amount of money to buy a second term with to ensure that there will be no local or federal sniffing
around into how and why the same cast of North Shore/Gold Coast/LaSalle St. cast of characters have been allowed to profit obscenely on these fucked up financial vehicles and why CPS, knowing they're being
bled white while adamantly refusing to act diligently in the name of the tax payer and take legal action to get from under these God-Awful things.

Some school districts have sued, won and at least been made partially whole.

Devil in the details is that non-disclosure agreements are demanded by the defendants so there is no working paper trail for other school districts to develop
a legal strategy to snatch back tax payer treasure.

Rest assured that CPS would energetically avoid taking action (by Rahm al-Ghoul's order) like that because too fucking many palms have gotten greased
over the years and too many members of elected officialdom took campaign money from these people over the years.

Didn't they hang thieves once upon a time?

Watch the sound and fury of this "federal investigation" decay to a fart noise, a puff of smoke and some stink with BBB and some loyalists stepping down and Rahm installing some wild-eyed, non-fuck-giving bomb thrower at CPS.

to 1:16 AM Thank-you!

I love teaching but despise CPS' incompetent administration.
Teachers are not issued cell phones-I had to up my minutes in order to call parents and to collaborate with the general education teachers regarding my special education students-these teachers did not have the same prep period as I did-the one office phone we were allowed to use to call parents was always in use plus there was a total lack of privacy....also where is the technology for the children with disabilities in the neighborhood elementary schools? Up to date technology can be a huge factor for those with learning disabilities-when we ask, we are told there's no money yet I know special education is "supposed" to receive state and federal funds....I have been waiting for years for this to be investigated-yes, I've reported this ad nauseum to no avail....sending this from the laptop I bought in order to complete copious amounts of special education documentation-CPS programs caused my family desk-top to crash...yet CPS has money for the joke SUPES Academy.

You said Rahm is afraid or turned a blind eye to the theft? How about he is in on the action. These days politicians are way too smart; in the old days they asked for a fat envelope full of cash. These days after quitting public service they get to sit on the board of AT&T or Starbucks. Then all of a sudden they become advisers to a Fortune 500 company. It's all legit folks. In the meantime, we are the problem and reason why the city is fucking broke.

Sentinel Technologies

This is funny as hell. If CPS gave Sentinel, a privately held Illinois corporation (CEO Dennis Hoelzer) $100 million in revenues last year. If this is true (I cannot verify the number) That would MORE THAN HALF of the $171 million that Crain's reported Sentinel took in in their April 21, 2014 Issue. I smell a RAT!!! Would love to know what other government contracts these guys have. Oh - here is one.. Detroit Public Schools..

A smart investigative reporter would investigate the SUBCONTRACTORS of Sentinel. Those would be given to the politically connected and they families, then described as minority sub-contractors and hidden from the view - just sayin'. Might want to look at CPD - who does the computer systems for the coppers?

The numbers on the procurement website are in fact real. No one has ever questioned Rahm or the school board on the massive fraud. Me personally, when I got the information I sent it to several politicians and the only one to help me was Scott Waguespack from the 32nd, he actually gave me the website. I know a guy who works for Sentintel, he confirmed the contracts, another friend works for CPS, he verified the massive ipad and chromebook purchases. This is only the start.
