All these new PO's really piss me off.
Barely two years I on the job and all they know is it's Friday how early can I leave SGT, I was foot patrol in eleven AFTER my probation ended (meaning they're veterans and expect to be treated as such), and amazingly, informing myself watch secretary even lieutenants that they don't kink being on the late side every once in a while but they prefer the early side.
And they've never heard of the blog, nearly two years here, never heard of the blog.
You know what I can't stand?? When people on Facebook are crying about how their kid is sick and has to go to the hospital. Get the fuck off Facebook and take care of your kid and stop posting this shit on FB. Then the obligatory pictures with a nebulizer or O2 mask. Stop this shit right now.
I don't know why the Mall of America would worry about being a terrorist target. They have posted no weapons signs on the door.

Not a LEO, just someone who likes to read this blog for the information that never seems to make it into any of the Chicago news media outlets.
One of the things that bothers me and also a few of your brothers/sisters in blue is the way people will throw in off topic items without any concern for the topic of that particular thread.
Many times I have seen a serious thread topic loaded with comments such as: where is my retro/LT./Sargent/whatever is an idiot.
I realize it takes a great deal of effort to keep this blog going day in and day out. You may have already tried this,but I was wondering if a daily off topic thread could be set up which would be used for all O/T posts and any O/T post in any other thread would be sent directly to digital hell.
It may take a while to train some of the slow learners but it may eventually reduce your workload.
I wish you the best and hope that you continue publishing this blog for a long time to come. I never realized all of the crap that you guys and gals get from the public,management and the politicians until I started reading your blog.

Christie Broke Law With Pension Move, New Jersey Judge Says
In a major blow to Gov. Chris Christie, a New Jersey judge ruled on Monday that he violated state law when he declined to make the full payment into the state’s pension system for public employees last year and ordered him to find a way to fund it now.
The decision further complicates Mr. Christie’s hopes of reviving his presidential ambitions, which have suffered in recent weeks as his approval ratings in New Jersey have sunk to the lowest point of his tenure, and Republican donors have moved to other contenders for the party’s nomination.
It came on the eve of his annual budget proposal to the Legislature, which already presented him with the challenge of finding $2.9 billion to make next year’s pension payment. The challenge is steep, with the state’s economy lagging well behind its neighbors’ and the nation’s, the state surplus dried up, and the governor loath to raise new taxes.
Mr. Christie will now be scrambling also to find the $1.57 billion the judge ordered him to pay.
In an indication of the rebuke contained in her opinion, Judge Mary C. Jacobson of State Superior Court also ordered the administration to pay the legal fees of the several public sector unions that sued to force the payments.
Mr. Christie’s office vowed to appeal.
“Once again liberal judicial activism rears its head with the court trying to replace its own judgment for the judgment of the people who were elected to make these decisions,” a spokesman, Kevin Roberts, said.
Mr. Christie rose to national prominence after declaring that he had “fixed” the pension problem in laws he signed in 2010 and 2011. Those laws, reached in a bipartisan compromise with a Legislature led by Democrats, required public employees to contribute more toward their pensions.
In return, the state promised to increase the amount it paid toward the annual pension obligations gradually over seven years, until it met its fully required contribution in 2018.
Republican and Democratic governors alike had skipped those annual payments for decades.
In 2014, faced with an unbalanced budget for that year and the prospect of another one for 2015, Mr. Christie announced he would not make the full payments for the next two years. For the 2014 fiscal year, he said he would pay $696 million, rather than the $1.58 billion the law called for; for the 2015 fiscal year, he would pay $681 million rather than $2.25 billion.
The governor blamed an “unanticipated” revenue shortfall for the cuts. But legislative budget analysts and ratings agencies had warned that the budget he signed was based on overly optimistic projections.
His move prompted the lawsuit from the unions, representing hundreds of thousands of teachers, law enforcement workers and state employees. Judge Jacobson ruled in June 2014 that the governor could skip the payments for that year, but only because the state was facing a financial disaster with five days left to balance the $33 billion budget, as the State Constitution requires.
But she warned then that the law gave state employees a constitutionally protected contractual right to the payments. She withheld her ruling on the 2015 payments until a budget was signed for that fiscal year.

4 officers on second watch in 011 were officially counseled today by their sgts for NOT taking lunch. None of the 4 put in OT slips for not taking their lunch. The order for the official, documented counseling sessions came from none other than XO Lemmer. This is NOT a joke. It actually happened. God save 011.
I'm going to have a nice cold one watching the election returns. Can't wait to see a run off!

Anyone see that NBC story on the 10 O'clock news regarding the CTA terminal built under block 37 which has never been finished and will never be used in the future. It was supposed to be used to house a high speed train to both O'hare and Midway but was determined to be too expensive after an initial $250 million was spent on the terminal. But wait it gets better, we're paying $2 million interest every year until 2028!
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't "Block 37" developed with TIF funds? So who's responsible for spending $250 million tax payer dollars on something that will never be used. They actually stated once the station was constructed they created a "Blue Ribbon Panel" to determine if the project was feasible and the chairman of the panel stated that they never even met once.
Of course they don't answer the real questions like who signed off on this project? Who had the construction contract? Who has the loan paying $2 million interest every year for something like twenty years.
And people wonder why our pension fund is owed $500 million.
I've put people in jail for stealing $20 and these jagoffs steal millions and they name parks and streets after them.

I'm not sure what else was told but that's what I've heard others mumbling. There's lots of mumbling going on these days in 012. Sad part is that it's mostly true. God help us in 012.

Call GeoKat Granite at 773-265-1423. They are located at 4460 W. Lexington. Great people and great installation by very professional tradesman. They did a great job on my kitchen and bath.

No, even police price can't save Mosaico. They're outrageously overpriced!. You can get most of what Mosaicos sells for HALF or more off their price over at Tile Outlet or Floor and Décor (which has huge selection and great prices).
They're also not a countertop place. Their markup is stupid-high. They cater to high-end designers, not normal people.
