Might as Well Post the Rumor

Even if it isn't true, it makes everyone at 35th Street nervous and the phones start chirping nonstop when we do:
  • Rumors are swirling through the hallowed halls of 35th Street that Superintendent McCarthy has finally gotten the phone call of his dreams. It's rumored that the good and righteous Mayor of New York has called Mr. McCarthy to request an audience.

The rank and file in New York are not happy with the socialist in chief there, and he believes a renowned member from the NYPD can help him with his moral problem there. It seems Bratton is too much of a copper and not enough of a socialist politician.

Garry, take it. I am sure I can find about 12,000 guys and girls that will help you pack the truck. Hell, we'll kick in for your air fare too.
We're good for $10 per for relocation costs.

Rumor he's leaving....ok. Let's say it true and let's say he does go. Hell, for most of us, he'll leave before we do. So...if he does leave soon, and they actually promote from within, do you think the next guy continues on the same course McCarthy has forged, or do they maybe go back to the way things were before he got here, i.e. watch commanders, no DSS, desk sgts return to their old duties, etc...? Maybe not the re-opening of 021, but maybe splitting 019 back into 019 and 023? Split Super 012 back into 012 and 013? How about the Areas? Re-open (and re-name) Areas 4 and 5? Were all those changes Rahm's ideas or did McCarthy have a lot of say when this all went down? Let's face it, a lot the upper brass that McCarthy has around him are not exactly the "best if the best". A lot of people have left over the last few years. A lot of these bosses that are there will need to be "de-programmed" or will have to check in to kool-aid rehab. I'm seriously curious as to what others think. And, no, I'm not a troll.

OT:

Regarding the CR files that are the subject of the current fight about releasing via FOI:

They all exist all right, about 40,000 of them and they are on disc, every one of them. Entire file, not just a one sentence summary. Including at least a couple with one former FOP President John Dineen as the accused. Also including my entire career with 27 years of CR files but not one sustained complaint.

The older ones are not supposed to exist. But they do. Now what? 40,000. You can bet that if the Tribune gets it's hands on them that there will be a link for the public to view the entire group of them.

I was never much of a Bratton fan. Jane Byrne talked to him about the Superintendent spot here. He never seemed to have any affinity for any one town, kind of an interloper and who wants to follow a guy who could turn around and say Fuck you tomorrow. After all, what are all of you taking promotional examinations for if there's no chance you'd advance to leadership positions in the town you live in. I felt the same way about the steroid infused J-Fled and the current pseudo tough guy who's fucked over the department with all his Comp-Stat stuff.

Bratton would not pass Rahm's ass licker and suckhole socialist test. Remember when McCarthy got here and did his best Al Sharpton imitation in Father Faker's Church blaming the Pilgrims for all the shithead's problems?

That was sickening. Never got any better. Maybe Bill Kushner in DesPlaines. He retired from CPD and has been Police Chief in a number of towns in the area. Kushner would do a good job.

The fantasy is in your head. Go right ahead and be the martyr. When you get your thirty pending separation take some time and think about the disservice you have done to your family. No longer will you be the breadwinner. Your kids now will go to public schools, good luck with that, and with finding a job to keep from getting foreclosed. It's a new day and age, don't you get it? You were given a brain, use it! There's no shame in analyzing the new world order and doing only whats necessary to ensure the safety and well being of those closest to you. And dont talk to me about our oath, the thieving assholes that have been elected dont abide by theirs. And all the dreamers that believe the populace will be "begging for us to do something", you can keep hanging on to that fantasy as well. This country had it's last shot at stopping the toilet from flushing and it chose the socialist from a foreign land for a second term. Get it thru your thick skulls, "its OVER"

12/16/2014 01:35:00 PM

I just came across this on an older thread.

So your father raised a quitter, did he? If the Founding Fathers acted as childish as you, this Country wouldn't exist.

These protesters represent a small potion of America. A few misguided, or worse - agenda driven, percent. If you'd been out dong your job, you would have been surprised at how many real citizens were offering their support.

I can't count the numbers of times I or my co-workers have had people walk up and say something positive to us. These are the people I work for. These are the real Americans, not the goofy protesters.

Nothing but "yes men" surround the administrative fools running the city because their fragile egos cannot take criticism or sage advice for that matter. Besides, they have agendas that have nothing to do with the betterment of the city or its citizens, and it would be counterproductive to have someone with the balls to call them out on their bs.

OT:

U.S. to Restore Full Diplomatic Relations With Cuba, Officials Say

The United States will restore full diplomatic relations with Cuba and open an embassy in Havana for the first time in more than a half century after the release of an American contractor held in prison for five years, American officials said Wednesday.

In a deal negotiated during 18 months of secret talks hosted largely by Canada and encouraged by Pope Francis, who hosted a final culminating meeting at the Vatican, President Obama and President Raul Castro of Cuba agreed in a telephone call to put aside decades of hostility to find a new relationship between the island nation just 90 minutes off the American coast.
---

Now what happens to the Cuban made cigars that will compete with their own Dominican versions?

The conservative Cuban Expats in south Florida will be pissed off hombres. It was their property that was confiscated and their family members who died fighting Castro.

Brokered by the pope, eh? Better rethink those security details there pope.

The union is aware and has notified members about this specific individual. Please inquire about further info from watch and unit reps. Stay safe and remember Holder was just here for a meeting and he despises law enforcement and police action. The 1918 flu pandemic (January 1918 – December 1920) was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic, the first of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus.[1] It infected 500 million[2] people across the world, including remote Pacific islands and the Arctic, and killed 50 to 100 million of them—three to five percent of the world's population[3]—making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history.[2][4][5][6]

Yes, the investigations maybe not-sustained, but they will be embarrassing for the involved officers. Family and friends will want to read these files. Attorneys will read them when you are involved in any type of legal action even if you are retired. Potential employers for retired officers or those wishing to find another job will read these files and can make unfair judgments about you. It is a mess and the courts should be ashamed of themselves. And, the police department who claimed for years that they have followed the contract and destroyed these old files should be held liable civilly and sued.

In my station, about 90% of the officers are on Facebook and out of those, a large majority have their wife, kids, grandparents, parents, etc.. on Facebook as well. The bad guys can find you and your family members. It is not worth it. I thought most police officers had common sense. I guess not.

Guys, be very fucking careful. In my station, the bad guys are threatening officers families. In one instance, the officer went out of town to his country and his wife got a phone call. The bad guys knew where he was traveling to, what date and the date he was coming back. Plus they told the wife to be careful and told her where she stays at. There was a second similar incident too. We are becoming Mexico, where officers families are fair game.

one early rumor was....that GMac told Rahm that he would cut and reduce expenses....that got him in favor with the Rahminator....now, does his new bride want him in a less stressful position (in anticipation of grabber #2?).....sure, why not?....the bottom line....whoever is the supt. does the mayor's bidding (meaning, the mayor could put a mechanical puppet at 35th Street, control it with a computer and a mouse, and it would serve the same purpose), and....if this was your police dept., would you run it the way it's being run now?

If a mayor calls you in New York he is gone!

And his little wifey??? Cmon you honestly think a mayor can't get her a gig in any lawfirm in New York!

Sometime we are naive and believe the rich have problems like ours.

He has no friends here and she is climbing the ladder of success. she is not worried about parking in front of her kids school.

Not to mention current-day reality in once-glittering Johannesburg. Look it up.

A lot of the mirror-glass skyscrapers, luxury hotels and former citadels of banking and transportation and so forth, are simply abandoned. Parks wrecked, glorious eight-ton bronze sculptures sawed to bits and dragged off in the middle of the night.

the case of 9 out of 10 Black Defendants include:
1. Leon Dingle

3. Jacquelyn Kilpatrick
4. Quinshaunta Golden former Illinois Dept of Public Health Chief of Staff
*Leon Dingle, now 77, and Golden, 46, were surprised in Golden's public office during what appeared to be a sexual tryst: Eric Whitaker had refused to answer whether he had a personal relationship with Golden!Eric Whitaker, who is Black, also testified he had “concerns” about the racial and political motivation of the ongoing investigation into state grant fraud, saying he did not support a “selective investigation."
In other words the Feds racially profiled the participants in this illegal activity?

Eric Holder come back to the Great State of Illinois and lets talk about black on black crime from the Illinois Department of Public Health to the neighborhood of Englewood in the City of Chicago! 016 needs more coppers pure and simple. They are in a wrap at change time between every shift. 3w is saddled with so many school crossings its crazy. Then throw in station assignments, prisoner transports to 025, and having to go in because aira doesn't work in the cars. Midnights? Don't even get me started. The entire watch including the sargents are sleeping by 0200. Sometimes in the parking garage. More cops, better supervisors would be a start.

McCarthy was brought here to swing an axe and has done Emanuel's bidding well. This impresses other pols.

However, his history in NY means DeBlasio doesn't want him back there. He'd be another Bratton.

He showed he can pander with the best of them when he publicly snoodled Phather Phelcher, but he's not the right fit for NYPD at this time.

DeBlasio needs to go the OW Wilson style academic route this time to appease his base and keep hatred of cops at a fever pitch.

While Emanuel smugly believes he has the authority to continue stealing tax dollars away from their lawfully intended purpose for his personal slush funds known as TIF and at the same time refuse to fund a constitutionally protected EARNED COMPENSATION, he can walk around like the little punk he is all he wants, telling people he can do whatever he wants.

In the end, the courts have to abide by countless well defined issues they themselves have arrived at that cannot be reversed against the constitution.

THAT is your protection. This city will have to try and claim bankruptcy (which will never pass in federal court as long as they're stealing TIF dollars for financing their buddies) before they could ever dream of having the chance to get away from their lawful obligation.

The legislature can play all the fucking games they want pandering to those who want to steal what they deem "their" pot of gold in our pension funds. In the end, the highest court in this state has repeatedly ruled on all these issues, and the courts are required to interpret the law the same way every time the issue is brought up.

The pension clause protects your pensions. Period. Likely even your healthcare premiums as well.

The only way to change that is to change the constitution and even THAT cannot withstand the federal contracts clause.

The city AND state cannot make contracts and then violate, ignore or erase them just because they want to give tax money to their friends for political gain rather than pay their contractual obligations.

The BEST they can ever hope for is that they can halt defined benefit pensions for future employees.

In the absence of the total collapse of American society as we know it, government cannot keep changing laws and state or federal constitutions to grant them the right to violate the contracts they don't feel like paying anymore, regardless of the excuses.

As it stands now, that same government claims the economy is growing by leaps and bounds. They can't lie to have it both ways, math doesn't lie.

Either they're proven liars on the economy, or they're proven liars on revenue collection from that economy.

This country will have to collapse economically (which is likely the purpose of letting Wall Street get richer from our next tax bailouts anyway) for contracts to be violated. And even then, they can't pick and choose which ones they want to violate or ignore or dissolve.

As long as there are federal courts, and as long as your REPRESENTATION doesn't fuck you over for their own benefit, you will not lose what you are owed.

Bankruptcy courts require equal creditors to be compensated equally.

Go look at Detroit. In the end, it was it was all lies and bullshit to con the stupid employee to give it up to the rich. What happened was equal creditors took equal hits, with fire and police temporarily have no cuts.

Push their bullshit all the way to bankruptcy court. At least then you can be assured their buddies are taking hair cuts just as bad as you, rather than you being the idiot who agrees to be the ONLY moron taking the hair cut.

Relax

"Terry Hillard and Phil Cline were both good Superintendents that were agressive and had our back"

They were aggressive self promoters that would throw a PO under the Bus in a heartbeat.

How can we get Tom Selek???????

Ask Tom Selleck.

Media reports he makes $125,000 to $150,000 per episode, so we can't afford him.

Here is one for you. No more first watch. Going from 3 Captains and 7 Lieutanants per Dist to 1 and 5. You dont really need a tect lieu either for that matter. Gonna stagger the start times and work the ten hour days. Lots of blue shirts getting fucked out of promotions.
