Another Great Reason to Shoot Someone

  • Four reputed gang members have been charged in the fatal shooting of an innocent 9-year-old boy, apparently gunned down because they thought he was shouting a warning to two rival gang members, police said.

"This didn't have to happen," Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said at a news conference Friday afternoon to announce charges in last month's slaying of Antonio Smith, the youngest victim killed in gun violence in Chicago this year.
Garry then says something stupid:
  • McCarthy said the gun used to kill Antonio had been used in other shootings. "Chicago's murder problem is a gun problem," he said. "It's too easy to get a firearm."
Then he starts making some sense again:
  • Allmon had just gotten out of jail in August after serving 18 months of a 3 1/2-year sentence on a weapons charge, according to McCarthy.

"He should not have been on the street to commit this murder," McCarthy said. "The real kicker to this entire case is that it didn’t have to happen."
Gee Gar - you ever think that there might be a correlation between those two thoughts? You seem intelligent at moments - more intelligent than some of Rahm's handlers give you credit for. Plus, you used to be a cop of sorts...a cop with a golden ticket, but you must have met actual cops at some point. If a criminal has little-to-no-fear of CONSEQUENCES, then he's going to...

Going to...

Come on now...going to...

Repeat? Re-offend? Keep doing the same damn thing over and over? Eighteen months on a gun charge is a fucking vacation from the mayhem of the south side. This guy probably welcomed the break.

Oh, and can we assume that he legally and properly bought the gun at a shop with his FOID card and took the classes and got his license to carry? Because you don't mention how the gun got into his hands otherwise - you know, like a ... a criminal act or something, seeing as how he already had weapon convictions in his background and was therefore ineligible to own a gun

Fact is it is too easy for these assholes to get a gun. So the Sup is dead on correct. That said, guns are everywhere in our country. That is our culture and that will never change. The vast majority of gun owners are good guys but the minority are gang banger jak offs.

We have a gangbanger problem, not a gun problem Garry!

Perhaps instead of "turn in a gun for cash day" we should have "turn in a gangbanger day."?

Wait a minute?

According to the lefty moonbats running the show, Chicago has a gun problem, not a population of mouth- breathing, death worshipping m/fers with no impulse control problem...

Chicago has made it's choice a long time ago...

Fix the Police...
Fix the M/Fers who are allowed to run around spraying bullets, shit, piss, jizz, death and destruction wherever they go just because they make up a solid and reliable democratic voting block as a counter-weight to the middle class tax payer.

Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant.
Seems all the guns in the country and all the places that have easy access for the law abiding citizen to own and carry don't have this "muder problem".
I wonder why that is???

Hilarious! I love how imbecile statements of the obvious pass for explanation. This reminds me of a recent fight at the CPS high school where I teach. When explaining how this particularly ugly brawl happened, the dumb-ass dean of students (schooled in CPS "restorative justice policies") stated, "We think that one of the boys said something to the other one."

Okay McSmartAss, riddle me this: ........
For the sake of argument let's say IL passes more Gun Control Laws, the ones you ijit Dems keep whining for: a) an Assault Weapons Ban, b) limiting Magazine Capacities to 10 Rounds, and c) Background Checks on *ALL* firearm sales, the (cough-BS) 'Gun Show Loophole' (cough-BS) is now closed).

But ...SHOCK!...shootings and murders in Chicago don't drop! For some odd reason the Gangbangers IGNORE those new Firearms Laws -- after all they are criminals -- and continue to bring 'illegal guns' into Chicago and continue their rampage.

Then what? Huh, Gar? What's your next bright idea?

I'm waiting ...........
(((((crickets))))) ..... (((((crickets))))) ..... (((((crickets)))))

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Problem is there are too many lawyers and community activists protesting for the rights of criminals. There aren't enough advocates for the victims or soon to be victims.

Enough forgiveness. Enough trying to find out why Johnny raped and then beat that girls head in. People are animals. There are tamed, civilized animals and there are animals that need to be put down. Simple as that.

According to the statistics, black people kill black people. Yes, more than 96% of the time, a black person is killed by another black person. Shall we ban black people? Ha! Auto accidents and tobacco products kill hundreds of thousands of people each year. Tobacco products actually harm those in the vicinity of the substance as well. Shall we ban tobacco products? Ban cars because of auto accident deaths? Ban alcohol because of DUI drivers? This logic is shit. We need to hold those convicted of crime to be handed down a punishment worthy of the crime. Hold the judges accountable. Hold the parole board accountable. Hold the politicians accountable. Make juicy interesting information public.

The Illinois prison system of time off for good behavior is something that should be given a firm look. This system is intended to keep peace within the prisons and make it easier for the staff and allow for less staff at each prison. It is not intended to keep the streets safe or make it easier on the citizens. Purely selfish on the part of our state officials.Compare Illlinois system with other states and you will see what I am referring to.

Yes, and the Democrat Socialists want us to give up our firearms to protect us and our families. As if savages like this will voluntarily give up theirs.

Vote Straight Republican in November, before this b.s. is occurring on your block. Wake Up America. Time for Change from years of Hope and Change. Hope and Change ain't workin. The communist City of Chicago is one perfect example, a place run for decades by Socialists (Democrats), just like Detroit. They slowly squeeze every bit of wealth you have out of you, till you and your family too are ghetto-living peasants, dependent on the govt. handout to survive.

Too easy to get a gun? Thats a joke. Forms, Federal Backround Checks, falsifying is a crime under Federal Laws, City Police checks, FOI State Police Approval? Oh wait, that only applies to Law Abiding Citizens. I guess when you are a criminal, it's too easy to break the laws and get a gun, and who's responsible for apprehending Law-Breakers Mr. McCarthy? Maybe it's time for your socialist, excuse-making ass to go. You sir, are an abject failure, who can only exist on lies and distorted crime statistics fueled by the lying News Media, and lying City Hall. Maybe you and your band of carpetbaggers ought to think about policing the criminals as heavily as you police Law Abiding, Tax Paying Citizens.
You sir, are a sharleton, along with your boss. Please go back to New Jersey, but first, turn in all YOUR guns, thay you protect yourself and your family with, just like you expect from all of us Law Abiding Taxpayers.

Tell that to the Fathers of the 9 year old murdered , pregnant woman raped , that 15 year old that was killed a few years ago .
Looks like some politicians cater to the gang bangers that get millions in grant money than the law abiding citizen .

I have fallen asleep with my gun in holstered next to me,I have dropped it accidentally. I have cleas it hundreds of times, and you know what...it has never fired.

You know why???

Because a gun need to be picked up, finger placed on the trigger, and 8 pounds of pressure applied.

You can load a gun and lay it on a table. In 1,000,000 years that gun will never go off

Nope. I'm not going for it. Easy access for guns it not "the problem." It is an accelerant but not the problem. People get killed in prison regularly...without the use of a firearm. Murder existed much before guns. The real "problem" is the seemingly increasing penchant for murdering another human being and how all the television, music and video games and internet usage a kid can get there hands on supports murder. "On Killing" by Lt. Col. Grossman is a great book on exactly that.

There were seven young men shot last nite in 011 where two died. These impressionable young men were about to change their lives. They were all honors students with ambitions to be the first to graduate in their family. Now their lives cut short by the hands of a cowardly, liberal, Democrat named Quinn and rham. Had these young men not been forced to stay 8 the ghetto generation after generation, had they been thought right from wrong, or respect or responsibility, this would not have happened. OH SHIT I JUST HAD MY REALITY CHECK. WHAT THE F-CK AM I SAYING. 19P.

Guns are responsible for homicides in much the same manner forks are responsible for making Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnel fat commie slobs.

Look at where 90% of the shootings and killings occur. There is always the same common "factor" but nobody will dare to address said factor head-on. So nothing ever changes.

"Chicago's murder problem is a gun problem," he said. "It's too easy to get a firearm."

Up in Maine there's a magazine called "Uncle Henry's". Sort of like the auto-trader but has everything from livestock, to farm equipment, to firearms. Plenty of guns around for private sale, and cash and carry at gun stores same day with a background check.

In 2010 we had 11 murders involving guns.... for the whole state!

Vermont allows open or concealed carry to any adult who is of legal age and not a felon only 2 murders with guns.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the guns we have up here in the northeast and the guns you fellas have in Chiraq?

Dear God I'm glad I don't live in a city anymore.... when I hear gunfire up in my neighborhood it means the neighbor is going to invite you to a cookout that night.

What? Indiana... The state... Has a lower crime rate than chicago... The city? Ever heard of Gary, IN? Indiana cities have also gone trigger happy on cops all year long. It's entertaining to poke fun at city officials when chicago is regarded as the "murder Capitol" or "most dangerous", but we aren't even top 50 in the country when incorporating every other city in America.

McCarthy is not really trying to say that the guns themselves are the problem. He is trying to get across the idea that our legal system is too lenient especially on weapons related offenses and keeps allowing violent offenders a chance to reenter the gangforce(not workforce).

In N.Y. if you get caught with an illegal firearm you are screwed. Just think about Plaxico Burress. They didnt catch him with the gun, they just knew he had one and he was convicted. First offense ever and he got jail time.

If our criminals here thought that was how things would play out I would guess they would think twice about carrying a gun. McCarthy is just not clearly presenting his case, a huge problem for the mouthpiece of the second largest police department in the United States.

His idea is right. Harsher sentencing for weapons offenses and violent offenders and truth in sentencing. If those two things occur the cpd could begin to fight in w arnest. Without those things the criminals will not fear our consequences enough to curtail their activities.

"Apples and ranges. Don't compare Chicago to Indiana. Compare Chicago to Indianapolis. Or Gary." That's right - compare Chicago to Gary, both in terms of homicides by gun AND demographics. Ditto for Indianapolis - especially the west side. You'll find great similarities in the level of violence AND in the - ahem - "complexion" of the neighborhoods involved.

I live in the boonies, and all of my neighbors are armed (I'm not - have eyesight that's too bad). In 25 years there was 1 - ONE - murder, and that was a stabbing during a bar fight between two pieces of white trailer trash. Just sayin'.... if you want to do the "apples and oranges" stuff, be sure to include ALL of the characteristics of the "apples" involved.

Lost a case at 26 and cal because the judge didn't believe the offender could throw a weapon the distance.
Political leaders wake up, this shit is really happening in court. Maybe the politicians should sit in on some cases and see what goes on in these court rooms. Outrageous!!

Common sense judge, if the police were lying as you assumed why the hell wouldn't the police simply put the weapon in his hand, rather that an elaborate story, duh. Because the police were telling the truth!
