Whoops

Now they'll have to draw a Violence Zone around HQ:
  • A man was shot and killed about one block away from the Chicago Police Department Headquarters in the Bronzeville neighborhood Friday night.

Walter Neely, 25, was found shot in the abdomen about 11:35 p.m. in the 3400 block of South Indiana, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Someone had approached on foot and fired at him, police said.

Neely was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m., authorities said. His home address was not known Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened about one block east of police headquarters at 3510 S. Michigan Ave.
Maybe some enterprising boss can count the people walking to Starbucks as "foot patrol."

Mr Johnson, Which is it?

Disappointed in the efforts of county police, with their hands having been tied, trying to keep calm with the animals of Fergeson?

Disappointed in the some of the animals you walked with during the protests? (What?! Did you think because you're black, and having walked with them, they'd come to their senses and stop acting like animals?!!)

Are you Dissapointed in yourself for being a sucker and playing the political game the governor asked you to play?

Are you Dissapointed for throwing the entire county police force under the bus?

You have a LOT to be disappointed in. And you're very naive or a fool or a political tool. Dont quit you day job - Stick to patrolling the highway.

The amount of people "detailed to" the academy or HQ would be staggering, not the #s of people assigned. There is a huge difference. Your detail can end on anyone's whim and at any time. "A Witness Conversation Unknowingly Captured at the Scene of the Ferguson Shooting is a Game-Changer"

http://www.ijreview.com/2014/08/168698-eyewitness-recalls-important-detail-background-video-mins-ferguson-shooting/

This corroborates an account of the event given by a friend of Officer Darren Wilson:

Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, “Freeze!” Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him… And then all the sudden he just started bumrushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. And, so he just started shooting. And, he just kept coming. And, so he really thinks he was on something.”

Ha, here's another whoops!

Did someone just say Illinois jobs are growing and...and in manufacturing too?

Deere lays off 600; 425 at EM plant

Deere & Co. announced Friday that it will reduce the size of its manufacturing workforce at some agricultural equipment factories in response to market demand for its products.

The action will place more than 600 employees at four locations on indefinite layoff. In addition, Deere is implementing seasonal and inventory adjustment shutdowns and temporary layoffs at several of the affected factories.

When Deere announced third-quarter earnings on Wednesday, the company said it planned to reduce agricultural equipment production in the company’s fourth quarter.

Employees have been informed at the affected facilities, which include John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline; John Deere Seeding & Cylinder, Moline; John Deere Des Moines Works, Ankeny, Iowa; and John Deere Coffeyville, Coffeyville, Kan.

but when a police officer tries to do HIS JOB he is ripped apart

our society is one of not accepting responsibility for its actions.

how could of this incident in Ferguson been prevented ?

ill tell you how.....the savage mike brown aka robbery offender shouldn't have robbed the store to begin with. the savage mike brown should have paid for the items he elected to steal

mike browns momma should be ashamed for her failure to accept responsibility for her sons actions and falling prey to the activists that followed her into the abyss after this incident

I see the savages lie in the hood every day

its as easy for them to lie as it is for them to steal and put their pants on

there is a lot of lying going on in Ferguson,Mo

REWARDING ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR

(Look at this crap. They are taking funds away from the immigrants doing things the right way to support Rahm's unaccompanied illegal immigrants promotion )

Feds set to divert refugee funds to deal with unaccompanied minors

Refugee assistance agencies in Illinois are steeling themselves for dramatic cuts in federal funding, which threaten to gut core services aimed at helping newcomers adjust and integrate to life in the U.S. The money instead is slated to go toward dealing with a crisis of unaccompanied minors streaming over the southern border, overwhelming temporary shelters that the U.S. is scrambling to expand.

* * *

“This is happening against the backdrop of this incredible upheaval that is plaguing our world at this point in time with (the) refugee crisis getting way out of hand in Syria, Iraq, South Sudan and Somalia, etc,” he added, “and (the) U.S. has to do its part to assist in this process.”

In Illinois, resettlement agencies and refugee support organizations stand to lose a total of $2.7 million in funds from the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement. The agency is responsible for services rendered to refugees from their point of arrival in the U.S., to up to five years after. Refugees, unlike unaccompanied minors, are legally present in the U.S., and have already undergone rigorous background checks by the Department of Homeland Security and immigration authorities before they are admitted to the U.S. by the State Department.

Statewide, the cuts represent $1.3 million in core programming for refugees, and an additional $1.4 million in discretionary grants which fund services for K-12 children, seniors, preventative health care, and intensive case management for refugees with particularly acute need of assistance. Currently, Illinois provides these services to about 3,500 refugees, according to Deborah Covington, Vice President of Planning and Allocation for Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. That organization is Illinois’s prime contractor for distributing and overseeing the bulk of ORR refugee funds.

Covington said programs funded by the discretionary grants will be completely eliminated. The state’s seven refugee resettlement agencies, and two additional resettlement support organizations, will have discretion as to how to accommodate the cuts in core programming.

Are the penalties enhanced for a murder/homicide that occurs with 1000 feet of a police Top Command Center Headquarters? Operations Command just released a memo reminding personnel to wear there safety vests when smoking in front of the HQ building. A crime bulletin indicates that the area around HQ has had numerous shootings murders and officers should be vigilant when exiting the compound.

If murders occur close to the doorstep of the HQ, is the beloved command center at risk? Lets suppose one of those police protesting radical organizations send their agents into HQ and walk right past the security checkpoint kiosk in plain view of the crack elite headquarter security team 6. Things could get ugly, real ugly. Lets say they unplugged all the copy machines and gained access to the command staff’s offices and stole their coloring books and rainbow colored crayolas, Chaos I tell you, utter chaos. To further cripple operations, E-Bay, Facebook and assorted shopping websites would be disabled from the computers sending the administrative productivity rating in the toilet. Mess with the doomsday supply of copy paper in the Ivory Tower command posts and you have just declared war by the ragging admin staff. If the radicals turned off the lights, the panic would be tantamount to rats navigating the funhouse maze complete with uneven floors fabricated by the crooked connected contractors.

Outside the facility the radicals can steal all the reserved parking signs for exempt staff as well as those for “Secretary of ___ only” signs. Can you imagine the exempts and their chosen drivers improvising a parking space plan overcoming adversity with the sheer panic of parking at in someone’s reserved spot outside the yellow painted lines. The geometric challenge of horizontal parking could cripple the command’s cognitive processes resulting in gold star parking wars type anarchy.

CPIC’s computer monitor screens could be hacked to be replaced with Saturday morning cartoons on the NASA like spaceship command center monitors. CPIC OPERATIONS WOULD NOT BE AFFECTED! Non functioning telephones (computers also) from every district in the city would then be installed in the ivory tower offices. Mess with the phones and there will be lots of hissy fits on display. This would baffle and stress out the secretaries and the elite exempts since they rarely visit districts and other facilities and don’t want to hear nor be sweated with the bitchy talk of basic workplace infrastructure malfunctions. Kind of like the challenges the little police facilities endure daily. The radical would then subject the exempts to the red tape silliness it takes to get things fixed. Days? Weeks? Months? Years? Not in this lifetime? It’s a jungle out there especially near the nation’s third largest police department’s top facility Super McCarthy, so be carful boys & girls moms and dads.

Liberia: Ebola fears rise as clinic is looted

Associated Press
By JONATHAN PAYE-LAYLEH 2 hours ago

"MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) — Liberian officials fear Ebola could soon spread through the capital's largest slum after residents raided a quarantine center for suspected patients and took items including bloody sheets and mattresses.

"West Point residents went on a "looting spree," stealing items from the clinic that were likely infected, said a senior police official...

"The residents took medical equipment and mattresses and sheets that had bloodstains, he said. Ebola is spread through bodily fluids including blood, vomit, feces and sweat.

"All between the houses you could see people fleeing with items looted from the patients," the official said, adding that he now feared "the whole of West Point will be infected."

New Black Panthers Lead Death Chant Against Officer Involved in Ferguson Shooting

By Mike Miller 8 hours ago

"Just prior to Saturday’s governor-ordered curfew in Ferguson, Missouri, New Black Panthers leader Malik Zulu Shabazz led a crowd in a chant, calling for the death of Darren Wilson, the officer identified in the shooting death of Michael Brown:

“What do we want?” “Darren Wilson.” “How do we want him?” “Dead.”

"In addition, several media outlets basically drew a map to Wilson’s home, with CNN going so far as to run video of the officer’s neighborhood, including his home.

"A portion of the video aired by CNN affiliate Newschannel 13 in Orlando, Florida (and likely by other affiliates across the country), shows a close-up of the street address by the front door..."

I also haven't heard any statements regarding the fact that as law enforcement we do NOT have to allow ourselves to be battered or assaulted in the performance if out duties.

Furthermore it isn't pointed out that once a citizen is told he/she is under arrest that they must submit.
That if the arrestee doesn't believe he/she should be arrested that the court will decide that fact. That debate isn't an option at the time of arrest.

No, it's so indicative of a lack of respect and discipline that George Washington had General Von Steuben begin training the first American Army with uniform, grooming, and drill training. Our inability to maintain discipline in those simple areas has carried over to the rest of this job. Look around you.

OT: I worked VRI last night and I never saw so many young policeman with long hair and scraggly facial hair. Can somebody please tell me what happened to our uniform standards on this job??? Does your appearance really command respect?

WOW - must be an old timer like me --that actually remembers that sign right above the haircut standards pictures in the roll call rooms. Nope - certainly doesnt command respect - and neither do the broke ass backwards baseball hats. No boss has the balls to say anything to the 3 year wonders, so that's why it is the way it is. But really, who's in charge? the DSS? He's got enough to do - the desk sgt. job and the W/C's job.

In 1975 everyone had long hair, scraggly facial hair, body odor and cigarette breath. Yet the job survived until all you guys with marine haircuts, manicured nails and pillsbury bodies showed up. One day you'll be gone and the job will go on. Find something else to worry about, like your pension.

Get a haircut before you start to look like Revenue, FFS

I agree with the original poster but your point is excellent and keeps it all in perspective. Years men in the military had full-beards until they wanted us looking like business men.

That's right kids, live by the rules of the dept. And make it your life then when you got 20 yrs on you'll see it doesn't matter how you looked, how many felony arrests ya got , how many guns you recovered, how many details you worked, how many days off cancelled, how many gang mission, edge mission, clean slate missions, worked, how many yrs working tact or gangs, how many holidays and birthdays worked, ........it means absolutely ZERO to the dept. You are nothing but an anonymous file waiting to be disposed of by the dept. For their political gain. Remember it's time to survive and escape...........

That is one of the many problems and indicates a lack of organizational discipline and uniformity. Both are critical to the effective functioning of a police organization. One of the many reasons the CPD has become what it is today. Truly sad.

There are alot more problems than this on the CPD. Think we all know what has really caused the CPD to become what it is.
If you want to see well groomed and well dressed officers, stop by headquarters, the commanders office and the front offices in the districts. They are loaded with officers that present a good appearance and do no police work.

Let me get this straight. A secretary gets a reserved parking spot in the lot and officers injured and sick reporting to the medical section have to find parking on the street. In winter a guy on crutches has to walk down the block in the snow, while a secretary has a reserved spot.
Maybe McCarthy just has to look out the window to improve moral on the CPD

There has always been reserved parking for people on the medical. Stop talking shit

This is obviously from someone that thinks that hasn't stepped foot in HQ except for when they go to the medical section but assumes there are people sitting on lazy boy's eating Bon bons. There is a staggering amount of empty cubes there and fire took an entire floor so use your investigative skills to figure out if the place is overloaded with "clout babies."

Ok, so bid out if it so bad.

I didn't think you would.
