New Links (UPDATE)

Seeing as how it took the major media outlets hours to come up with actual info on the recent happenings at the lakefront and the actual heavy-lifting and reporting was done by bloggers with a scanner, we've added the CrimeInWrigleyville + Boystown" blog and the UptownUpdate" blog to our local news links. They're doing at least as good a job as the mainstream media.

Now if someone could just discover why the YouTube video disappeared so quickly. Luckily, bloggers saved the recordings and continue to post them where they can be discovered by those who wish to be informed and not fed a pile of crap from certain directions.

UPDATE: Since we use so many of their statistics, we added the HeyJackass.com website also. We meant to do that a while ago, but it got lost in the shuffle here. Apologies to the hard working crew over at WH Thompson's site.

The Crime in Boystown blog is pretty good because they'll get the HX numbers and actually do real research unlike the limpdick media does.

The Wrigleyville blog is very informative, but their moderators are pretty quick to pull the trigger on comments with any hint of controversy. Their blog, their rules. Sometimes the facts are the facts though.

Unapproved information is seldom reliable. Futhermore all news and public informaiton must be filtered by the authorities. The public must be protected.

Is this possible... I am no Techno-Geek but here is a theory.

Google owns Youtube and Google charges fees for a lot of things. Let's say you want to look up a store or service on Google. The one you want is buried back in the list behind others who paid fees to get higher on the list.

My guess is Rahm's trolls are constantly monitoring Youtube and other sites they may be finding these videos and paying the fees to get them knocked off the internet. I wouldn't doubt Rahm would be plying censorship and no doubt using taxpayer money to do it.

I just Googled the phrase, "how to delete a video on youtube" and there were 47.2million responses.

That You Tube video disappeared as quickly as Rahm does from press conferences when he doesn't want to talk about something.

FYI... while I occasionally check out Uptown Update, be forewarned that it is a strongly liberal blog that many SCC'ers may find ... well, not exactly their cup of tea. Don't bother trying to leave any 'controversial' (for them) comments because they will never get published. Highly censored and their regular readership are very squeamish amid strong conservative opinions.

Just saying...

Excellent! With so much of the news being filtered these days, it's good to see alternative sources get a much deserved link.

After the video was taken down from YouTube, it showed up on the Crime in Boystown blog, and then after that showed up on the Chicago Tribune's site itself.

Sorry, Rahm. If it's a video people want to see, you're not going to be able to censor it.

No word if the video finally reached "World Star Hip Hop" yet. Can't bring myself to check.

Censorship. The new Amerika is here.
There's your Change.
Another reason I'm fed up with the Rahm Factor.

I'm hope Karen Lewis makes a run for mayor, she isn't a Machine politician. Even if she can get Rahm to spend all his $7million shekels, it would be a much needed boost to our economy.

• Keep up the rhetoric Karen...Rahm can't sleep nights and refuses to accept that he's a failure.

Take the Uptown Update blog with a grain of salt. The views aired there tend to skew left.

As an example, a while back they ran several posts in support of Obamacare enrollment events. In the comments to one, I posted a warning about people age 55 - 64 unwittingly being forced onto Medicaid (and thereby subject to estate forfeiture) by Obamacare. Along with the link to the Tribune story where I first learned of this.

The reaction was revealing. This cold hard truth was blasted as just "silly nonsense" and fake "right wing" spam from "Obamahaters".

I quit reading the blog after that

To the self-confessed "techno-geek" who posted at 7/15/2014 01:48:00 AM:

Those 47.2 million "response" (you mean results, and there are actually approximately 199 million results for that search phrase) are related to people asking how to delete their OWN videos from Youtube, because most people are idiots.

These are not searches for how to get videos you don't own taken off YouTube.

I am incredibly curious how these videos got deleted though, or how many there were to begin with.

That video was not earth shattering
It starts out showing two guys fighting for like 15 seconds, then one walking away . A little later shows 3 or 4 guys fighting one getting sucker punched. There alot of people standing around and watching, but doing nothing else. It sure wasn't mayhem. Ive seen better fights with larger crowds on Rush street and in Wrigleyville on many weekends.

I thought that the beach was supposed to be closed when it's too hot out? At least that's what Rahm said three years ago.
