Dart Moves In

In light of Preckwinkle announcing she won't be running for mayor, Dart makes a move to increase his profile:
  • Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart will focus on catching people wanted on arrest warrants for violent crimes in Chicago to help quell gun violence in the city, officials said Tuesday.

Dart’s office will also boost its supervision of criminal defendants who have been released from jail on electronic monitoring, said Cara Smith, executive director of the Cook County Jail.

Sheriff’s officers are being shifted from south suburban Robbins — where the sheriff has been concentrating on reducing violence — to the city of Chicago, Smith said.

“We will be focused on Chicago warrants — as opposed to countywide warrants — for some period of time,” she said. “We’re aware of crime trends. We respond accordingly.”
Our readers have been pushing this info for a few days now. Dart is sending up to 200 sheriffs into war-torn hoods to "assist" in stemming the violence.

Ten bucks says if crime goes down next month, even a little bit, Dart will claim his efforts are leading the way. We can't wait to see the look on Rahm's or Garry's faces when that happens. So is Dart running for mayor? And who planted him there to siphon off Rahm support?

I sure hope Chicagos fugitive apprehension unit and County sheriffs don't step all over each other by hitting the same locations looking for the same wanted bad guy. Oh wait a minute, Dart said he is going after the most violent offenders. Salemme has his unit going after shoplifters. Disregard.

Tom Dart the wonder boy making the news again. He cant staff the jail or courts. But he found two hundred officers to do street duty. He cant get escort officers to escort visitors at the jail. Causing people to be locked in a room for 30 hrs. Tom tell us about the millions you spent on the Cameras thur out the jail. Tom tell us about the one Director you promoted three times in the last few years. After he was in court telling the court he took money for the officers that he had working for him[side job]. The director response in a court statement was that the officers paid him out of respect. All the officers were all fired for Official Misconduct. And on no secondary employment approval. He was promoted three times after that.Tom tell us about how you have Ald.Burke's family on the payroll. I could go on and on about how Tom Dart is a scum bag.

Chicago is SO messed up.

Dart is no leader and definitely not a good choice for Mayor.

That being said, neither is Rahm. He has already demonstrated beyond a doubt that HE is not a good choice for mayor.

So is Karen Lewis going to steamroll into position because she has the Mojo?

Look for a name change for the city - it's coming - Chitroit. Change the Motto as well.

Chitroit - the City that used to work, but now just uses a LINK card.

Does anyone have real leadership skills that can run as a Republican and avoid all this Primary mess?

SCC, I like where you're going with this...

Ten bucks says if crime goes down next month, even a little bit, Dart will claim his efforts are leading the way. We can't wait to see the look on Rahm's or Garry's faces when that happens. So is Dart running for mayor? And who planted him there to siphon off Rahm support?

I think it would make a nice little Netflix mini series...After this scenario above happens, and once Rahm and Garry figure it out, they start meeting with gang leaders privately to increase crime. They would do this to control the optics. They'd be willing to do whatever it takes in order to prevent Dart from gaining any political advantage.

Of course with the mini series we'd finally see the real Rahm and Garry that the media never shows. (That's the advantage of some stories! This would be told from an "omniscient narrator point of view")

We'd see things like Rahm going home and telling his wife, "Why don't people love me like they do Ari?! What else can I do to show them they really need me? They don't need that asshole Dart, that's for sure, and I'm going to stop him from ruining everything I've created."

We all know how the story ends - chaos and destruction of the lives of everyone. Don't all stories of man seeking power end that way? Where an entire group of people are destroyed by the efforts of one person.

This is very interesting because the "Box Model" being used by McCarthy is based on the L.A. strategy. In L.A. the police depend heavily on coordinated effort with their County Sheriff. On the downside, if Dart really enforces warrants, he will fill up the jail with people of color, and Toni does not want that. So what is really behind this sudden enforcement? Or is all this to flex Dart's muscles?

This is the trend nationwide in big city's. They merge police and fire with the county and surrounding suburbs and a metro police force is put in place. It saves a lot of money.

Springfield man sues Illinois State Police after FOID card denial
Posted: Jul 10, 2014 1:04 PM CST
SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois State Police faces a lawsuit from a Springfield man who says he was denied a Firearm Owner's Identification card even though he received a gubernatorial pardon for previous felony convictions.

Donn Malwick, 63, filed the lawsuit in Sangamon County Circuit Court on June 20. Malwick is suing because he appealed the denial in September, but still has not received an answer. Illinois State Police did not comment on the legal action, but said there is no "statutory mandate for the time period for the response to an appeal."

Malwick had felony convictions for theft in 1969 and trying to cash a forged check in 1970. Court documents show that Malwick was pardoned on both convictions in 1999 by Governor Jim Edgar.

This is interesting.

ISP files rule changes on CCA effective immediately on July 10 -- four days later they leak out a part of what those changes are on July 14. Then they're gonna wait until July 25 (eleven days later) to publish the rule changes in their entirety.

Smells like more lawsuits.

-------------

Illinois State Police Post Emergency Rules to Address Statutory Framework of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act

Press Release Date: July 14, 2014

New Operating Rules Include Providing Applicants, Subject to Denial, Reasoning for Objection

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Police (ISP) officials announced today that emergency amendments were filed on Thursday, July 10, effective immediately, to further strengthen the statutory framework of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act.

The emergency rules include a provision on the consideration of objections and the decisions of the Concealed Carry License Review Board (CCLRB). If an application may be denied, the CCLRB will send the applicant notice of the objection, including the reason for the objection and the agency submitting the objection. The applicant has 10 days to provide the CCLRB with evidence to prove the applicant’s eligibility.

** **
(( we wonder what else the rulemaking includes ))

** **

The emergency rulemaking strengthened the CCLRB review process in areas such as CCLRB Meetings, CCLRB Conflicts of Interest, CCLRB Department Liaison, CCLRB Consideration of Objections, CCLRB Reporting, Decisions of the CCLRB, and Hearings of the CCLRB.

The CCLRB developed these emergency rules to strengthen and provide an operating framework of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act for the CCLRB. The CCLRB is responsible for reviewing all objections presented by local law enforcement agencies or by the ISP. The CCLRB votes to determine if an objection is sustained, and determines if the Concealed Carry License (CCL) applicant is eligible to obtain a CCL.

The CCLRB will use every resource and necessary time extension to ensure that the reviews are conducted fairly and thoroughly under the newly established emergency rules.

The Rules will officially be published in the July 25 Illinois Register and can be located on the ISP website under the CCL tab at: http://www.isp.state.il.us/.

As an award for breaking and entering Rahm, Quinn, and Obama would like to hand you your Illinois drivers license!

In addition you now qualify for thousands of dollars in additional prizes!

"...Q. where does your father live? A. I don't even know his name

Congratulations!!!

Now all you unaccompanied illegal immigrant children, 12 years old and above, your next mission is to see who can have the first anchor baby and how many of them you can pump out.

I mean there's nothing else to do. No jobs. Parents aren't here, you're unaccompanied!!

Garry McCarhty, what say you??

Broken Windows eh?

And is anyone surprised after being rewarded with thousands of dollars in gifts that the breaking and entering continues?

Rahm, Quinn you open the doors to the city letting in people that we know nothing about.

We think that you should take the locks of YOUR doors and let them live with you!!

It's for 'the children' after all so put your money and your home where your big mouth is.

Actions speak louder than words. Garry, you too!

And Dart, all of you as a matter of fact. How about addressing the crime problem where it originates instead of playing this Obama game of "the horse is already out of the barn and we can't do anything about it now"

Creating a crisis that can be used as a tool for more power and money. We see right thru this scam. Is the crisis big enough yet?

One director is brother-in-law to 19th ward alderman. The day he graduated from the corrections academy in 2008 he was made director and giving a 25k raise. He can only hire with money that Preckwinkle gives him. He spends too much on the political jobs when that dough would pay for more deputies. Now if he cut the number of hack politicos he could easily add 150 or so more deputies. How do you think he would run the city?
