Another $100 Million?

For a library that doesn't exist yet, hasn't even been awarded as a construction project:
  • An Illinois state House panel on Thursday advanced a plan championed by Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan, D-Chicago, to appropriate $100 million in state funds to help finance the construction of President Barack Obama’s presidential library and museum in Chicago.

The panel voted unanimously after a hearing in Chicago where rival institutions angling for the facility all agreed it should be in the city; just where is the point of disagreement.

The measure now advances to the floor of the state House. Madigan spokesman Steve Brown said “there is no firm plan to advance this bill immediately.”

While there have been some objections over the cash-strapped state of Illinois putting money toward an Obama library since Madigan announced his $100 million plan, no one testified against the state spending.
A state billions of dollars in debt and full of morons who can't wait to deify a president who, quite frankly, hasn't done much for Illinois in particular and Chicago specifically.

Old proverb: don't count your chickens before they are hatched. O was allegedly born in Hawaii, and we know he was mostly raised there. What if the great man decides his library will be in Hawaii? Will Illinois politicians have egg on their face? Why are liberals so ignorant, stupid, and/or blind?

Since becoming president, except for fund raising, how much time has O spent in Chicago, Cook Co. or Illinois? O spends more time in Hawaii than he does at his alleged home in Chicago.

I have been to Hawaii a couple of times. Given a choice I would rather be in Hawaii than Chicago.

SCC Said:

"A (Failing) state billions of dollars in debt and full of morons who can't wait to deify a (Piss-Poor) president who, quite frankly, hasn't done (Much of Shit) for Illinois in particular and Chicago specifically."

Remember the assholes joyfully whipping bricks and bottles at The Police on Election Night 2008?

"WHOOOOOO! WE PUT US A PRESIDENT IN DA WITE HOUSE AN' Y'ALL BITCH-ASS PO-LEECE WORKS FOR US NOW! HAAAA-HAAAH! Fuck y'all an' y'all pension! We runnin' thangs now! We gonna get a big bonus on our LINK cards an' y'all ain't gettin' shit!" Etc... Ad Nauseum et Ad Infinitum...

Well... Six years later and it turns out that the cackling hyenas and brick/bottle flingers were right.

The Police not only didn't get shit, but they were walked backwards while the non contributing Catered To Constituents haven't lost any sleep and don't have a hair out of place.

Funny... Rahm and Rauner don't have the balls to threaten these mutts with curtailment of the benefits they don't work for but shit all over Policemen who engage these, ungovernable, destructive, hard head, iron-legged, in love with death m/fers who reject everything the majority of polite society stands for and considers acceptable.

"We ain't crazy! Y'all is!"

Meanwhile, Rahm keeps getting his financial freak on to the tune of a $7+ Million campaign war chest and weekly announcements of multiple million dollar "projects" just to rub our noses in it regarding all the money the city is actually sitting on while crying tears of a whore about "Pension reform first."

Who laughs when we're reduced to wearing Coolie Hats, Black Pajamas, flip-flops and running around with a rifle and a 10 pound sack of rice and setting off satchel charges?

Remember... Government is no longer representative of the people.

Corporate money conjurers have the government they always wanted.

* The set-up (pun intended)…

Illinois State House members are advancing a bill that would devote $100 million toward a Barack Obama presidential library. The House Executive Committee meeting in Chicago today voted, by an official tally of 9-0, to authorize using state money for the library…Nine representatives were recorded as voting for the bill, even though there were five lawmakers in attendance at the hearing. That is because Rep. Bob Rita (D-Blue Island), who chairs the Executive Committee, employed a procedural move.

Rita used the attendance record from a previous hearing that occurred Wednesday as the vote for the presidential library cash. House Speaker Michael Madigan, who sat in on today’s hearing, clarified Rita’s maneuver, saying the attendance would serve as nine votes in favor of the library, even though the previous committee hearing was on a possible Chicago casino and not related to a presidential library.

No Republicans attended Thursday’s hearing on the presidential library..."

The publically paid for library is going to be his castle where the world will come to seek his advise. I have always been of the belief that Rahm's resignation as Chief of Staff to become mayor was nothing but a con cooked up by Obama and Rahm to finance this boondoggle on the backs of Illinois taxpayers. These guys are both ends of the same turd. $100 million would be better spent toward the pension shortfall.

The game of playing the two political parties against each other is wearing thin.

People are wising up to this divide and concur strategy.

A strategy that has worked so well and in so many other places around the world to stir unrest, to start wars and is being replayed right here.

When the republican vs democrat finger pointing no longer works it's on to the poor vs the middle class.

While that is being stirred then pull out the racist card and play that. Then the gay rights card. The women's rights card, etc..

Divide the citizens and keep them fighting each other as that protects the current leadership position on top of the Maslow pyramid.

When was the last time you saw these people trying to unite the country?

Constantly pointing out our differences you see no-onoe pointing out our similarities

Republican's and Democrats are bought and paid by the corporate elite. They cater to the money that put them in office and that money is wall street and corporate CEO's.

We have no freedoms.

Everything is considered a privileged. I challenge y'all to come up with one g-damn thing that isn't regulated and controlled...enforced by picking and choosing at will who has to abide by the laws and who does not. We are concerned for your safety bullshit used as a tool of repression.

Many don't play that game no more.

They, the reps and dems, shoved the 66% state income tax increase up our ass. Then they shoved the Obamacare TAX up our ass.

That's just the tip and they want more. Property tax increases, City income tax talk. It really needs to end.

How about putting the lawmakers and politicians that ran off with the pension funds enriching their friends in the process. Stop blaming/demonizing the unions.

They take turn playing good cop bad cop.

Here, let's put a thing in this next that we know will never pass but it's used as tossing a bone to the other party to take back out of the bill and play savior.

Next time it's the other sides turn in the barrel to create an illusion that they are here representing us the average joe.

Pensions AND Social Security was all a lie the money stolen and handed out to political friends. Just another tax.

Even the food stamp benefits have been cut recently. First they knock off about 10% at the top. Then they announce a shift in the days of the month in which the benefits will be paid. A month of food stamp benefits now has to last for 33, 34 days so they can claim no-no, benefits haven't been cut see..the check is the same. heh. the bullshit is juvenile

After two terms of Bush. Two terms of Obama etc it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that just putting the other party in office is gonna fix it.

WARNING -- ACTUAL OBAMA LIBRARY COSTS COULD BE HALF A BILLION DOLLARS

WBBM Radio reported early this morning that Speaker Mike Madigan is holding out $100 million merely as bait to attract the library.

They reported that Madigan said that the actual cost of building the library could be $500 million or more, and that additional state funding might be provided later -- once it's too late for us.

It's a whole little Olympics! Rich opportunities for 5X - 10X cost overruns, theft, swindles, graft, and connivance, all wrapped into one building.

Maybe we can have a teenaged gang member design the structure. Maybe Vanecko Sewer Cleaning And Construction will get the contract.

Bend over. Here comes the Obama Library.

...and here comes another Great CTA Project. 16-20 or more occupied residential and business buildings to be torn down for another "flyover."

One of these is a 14-unit condo, only 7 years old. Even Todd and Buffy aren't safe anymore -- not even in the heart of town.

As the Japanese soldiers used to shriek from the jungle darkness, so too does government fix its bayonets and bang on tin cans, blow bugles and ready satchel charges to hurl upon the taxpayers --

"AIEEE! HEY, YANKEE!

"WE YOU COMING TO GET!

We full of holes already, yo.

"One lawyer with a pen can steal more than a hundred men with guns."

To wit --

"[Goldman Sachs'] unprecedented reach and power have enabled it to turn all of America into a giant pump-and-dump scam, manipulating whole economic sectors for years at a time, moving the dice game as this or that market collapses, and all the time gorging itself on the unseen costs that are breaking families everywhere — high gas prices, rising consumer credit rates, half-eaten pension funds, mass layoffs, future taxes to pay off bailouts.

"All that money that you're losing, it's going somewhere, and in both a literal and a figurative sense, Goldman Sachs is where it's going: The bank is a huge, highly sophisticated engine for converting the useful, deployed wealth of society into the least useful, most wasteful and insoluble substance on Earth — pure profit for rich individuals."

CHICAGO TRIBUNE REPORTS -- OBAMA LIBRARY COULD COST $500 MILLION OR MORE

12:24 p.m. CDT, April 17, 2014

"An Illinois House committee endorsed a plan today to contribute $100 million in state funds toward construction of a Barack Obama presidential library in Chicago.

"The proposal, pushed by House Speaker Michael Madigan, goes to the full House next.

"Madigan said it's appropriate for Illinois to commit public funds for the library even though the state is grappling with serious financial problems.

“It's clearly a good investment for the future.”

"Building the library and museum could cost $500 million or more. Madigan would not rule out additional state money going toward the library project down the road, though he said he's "hopeful that the size of this appropriation would prove to be a very attractive argument to the (presidential library) committee."

Like I said -- the "$100 million" figure is just the cost of the bait.

Obama's sole interest in Chicago, Illinois was political opportunism. He was aware of the fact that African Americans had been elected from the 1st Congressional District non-stop since the US Representative was a Republican. I think that his presidential run was pure egotism and, with a complicit media, he surprised everyone, himself included, by pulling it off. He spent his entire first term campaigning for reelection. So, thanks very much Chicago, you served your purpose. I doubt that Obama really wants to live here any longer. As such, let some other site host his library.

This is from a Pension Review white paper:
"For the policemen’s and firemen’s annuity funds, the 2010 reforms went even further. For these two funds alone, the City of Chicago abandoned its “multi- plier” financing method and instead was required to adhere to an annual funding requirement that would result in a 90% funding ratio by the year 2040. This requirement goes into effect in 2015. The City was granted permission to levy a tax in order to fund this payment. If the City fails to meet this requirement in any year, the State has permission to redirect grant funds for the City directly into the pension funds."

Read that bottom sentence again, 'If the City fails to meet this requirement in any year, the State has permission to redirect grant funds for the City directly into the pension funds.' So this is why Rahm needs the reforms! If he doesn't get reform, we keep our current pension benefits, and it gets funded from all the grants the city gets! Oh no, Rahm won't be able to build more luxury schools and parks, or more bike paths! I say, let it happen!

You are definitely on to something there, but Barack is neither smart enough or slick enough to pull that off. He is nothing but a bird dog set out by smarter and more conniving men.

Maybe he knows it, probably doesn't care or process it quiet right in his narcissistic world.

Bottom line is we are a weaker Nation than we were six years ago. We cannot continue down this path. The world needs a leader with this Country's ideals. Stop pushing the one world idea. We are a long way off from that utopia.

I think we would be better off with our race relations today if we hadn't pushed so hard and let the charlatans take advantage. Had we let it happen at it's own pace in this country I really doubt we would have the division we have today.
